Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

We have a decent cafeteria onsite, but the food (which is supposedly subsidized) is average-priced (the typical lunch is $5-7). We also have a workout room downstairs, with weight machines, a few treadmills and stationary bikes, and an elliptical machine. But, I go to the park district's fitness center instead, since they have a pool there, too.
Speaking of perqs, I helped out a co-worker on a project last week, and she just came by and gave me a $25 AmEx gift cheque (paid for by the company)! I was planning on heading over to the clothes store this week and pick up some much-needed items, so I'll probably spend it on that.

Usually I like my water cold, but during the mini-iceage in my apartment actual room temperature -- given that room temperature was in the 50s -- was good.

Yeah, we keep our Britta on the counter, not in the fridge.
Nerd rustling is my new favorite term.
And Aimee, thanks for the head's up on the GS cookies. I needs me some cookies. Now all I need is to find a GS.

You want I should order you some when the Cookie Chair calls me? They come in in March and it would be a GREAT motivator for us to get the childrens together!
Like JZ, my employer isn't allowed to give away free food. There's a coffee club to which you contribute change occasionally, hot and cold water, and a snack bar which sells on the honor system; the money raised goes to "morale" functions. I don't know what those are.
I suspect my occasional apple cake will be as popular here as it was at the old job.
I still feel awful. When is today over?
