Now tagless for your comfort.

Sometimes clutches are just crap. I had one car that lost 2 of them. The mechanic started with a "ever drive a standard, lady" attitude, then changed his tune and bitched up a storm about what a shit clutch it was.

Yes. This. When we bought our last manual transmission car, a friend kept telling me I'd have to replace the clutch at some point. Clutches can just go bad.

I hear that Paris Hilton is having her birthday bash this weekend in Vegas.

Can't wait to see the drunken photos on The Superficial.

I think the other two (Kate Bosworth and Christina Ricci) are even freakier.

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I can't imagine being perfectly tiny and adorable and then letting yourself waste away like that. When your sternum looks like a xylophone, you've got a problem.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

What should I do tonight?

It's the collarbones you could hook your finger under that freak me out.

Something fun that I can enjoy vicariously. I'm watching Cars for the fourth time tonight and getting ready to put the kids to bed. DH was supposed to take the kids to the relatives' to visit and give me a weekend on my own but it got cancelled due to illness (theirs, not ours). My dreams of a weekend alone were shattered.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We were talking about the model thing at work today, and my already-thin coworker was talking about how she used to model, and was 113 lbs. at 5'9", and they wanted her to be thinner. Craziness. She was also saying she's currently just under the 18 BMI now, heavier than when she was "heavy" for a model. So the whole thing is nuts.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think that Nicole Richie has been gaining weight again. And I don't remember Christina Ricci being that thin on Grey's. But Kate Bosworth, as far as I've seen, is that skeletal still.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Ok, Murphy can just leave me the fuck alone now. I spent over an hour-and-a-half in my car(considering the crawling pace on both 495 and 95, I hesitate to call it driving)to get to the airport, only to find out my flight was cancelled. The next available flight they could put me on is tomorrow at 11 am. That gets in around 12:30 that afternoon, which means there's very little chance I'll get to G's concert at 1. I'll be lucky to get to the featured filkers' concert at 2.

A friend of mine who was taking an earlier flight on the same airline left me a message to check my flight's status. On my home answering machine. Since I went directly from work to the airport, this was useless. She also called G, but he's in Salt Lake City,so that wasn't helpful either.

The only upside I can see is that the flight was already cancelled by the time I got there, so I didn't have to try to find my checked luggage.

Grumph.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

sarameg,

Enterprise is who I always rent from (including yesterday to see you!)and they are super cheap on the weekends, usually about $15/day for the economy size. They also pick you up and drop you off if you call them after you make your reservation. This is why I have yet to buy a car. They will try to sell you insurance but most credit cards will cover you for everything but liability and (in MD) you must already have that with your regular car insurance.

Got a follow-up call from future boss today. I guess the interview went well, although a few other candidates have come out of the woodwork.

Have made significant progress in project De-Clutter! Yay! It's completely ridiculous how much of the pile of crap on my desk was actual trash. What is the barrier to just putting it in the trash in the first place?? Maybe someday I'll really need that small paper bag again??

sarameg - Feb 16, 2007 4:27:47 pm PST #1598 of 10001

megan, thank you! I'd meant to ask in thread cause I remembered you mentioning cheap rentals, but..yeah, I'm kinda tizzying and thus forgetting all but my name. Right now, I'm envying your ease of carlessness. Hell, right now, I'm a good argument for it!

Yay on the followup call! That's very encouraging turn-around time. I can't see why they'd pick woodwork people over the charming you, but sadly, I'm not in charge of hiring.

The second half of the bomb story on GA is on right now. Man, that is some excellent tv.
