I got stupid. The money was too good.

Enterprise has free pick-up/drop off service, and you can generally get an economy or compact car for less than $40 a day.

Edited to replace the name of the fucktard-filled rental company that's about as trustworthy as their real-killer golf course sleuthing former spokesman with a company that will actually be helpful.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ouch sara. Psychics, maybe, and people who can read the future are totally on top of car repair stuff. At least, that's what I tell myself. Don't sweat it, though. Some shit is just...well, sometimes you just have to spend the money.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

sarameg - please be nice to my friend. You didn't break your car on purpose - it was a result of the snow, which, you aren't responsible for. It totally sucks having to spend money on car repairs and other un-fun shit, I know. Buy yourself a nice nummy treat.

Well, it was from me riding the damned clutch when I know better than to do that. That's what is making me cranky. I was just so focused on getting unstuck that I let that slide. Stupid clutch is only 5 years old. At least the death of that one wasn't my fault. I'm ok with (well, resigned to ) things just falling apart because they have a finite life, but ...Rrrg. This is $500 of stupid.

Yeah, no.

I'm shocked! Just shocked! The linker of things best left unlinked!

Since you have AAA, make sure you ask if you can a discounted rate on a rental. But what Matt said; you should be able to get a car for a few days pretty cheap ($40/day actually sounds high to me for around here, but it's been a while.)

What is even happening?

Last winter, after we totaled our car, I think we got a car from enterprise for 29 bucks a day.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

If you have a way to get to the airport, I've gotten good deals off Hotwire. But at least here, they're only at the airport... Edit: Nevermind, for this weekend in Balto, they only have "Premium" cars at $40/day anyway.

I am incredibly tired. This week at work has been mad draining. But yet, I need to neaten the house before my parents get here.

Our wings are not tired.

{{sarameg}} Sometimes clutches are just crap. I had one car that lost 2 of them. The mechanic started with a "ever drive a standard, lady" attitude, then changed his tune and bitched up a storm about what a shit clutch it was.

I hear that Paris Hilton is having her birthday bash this weekend in Vegas.

There is some NBA/Celeb type thing in Vegas that is on my tv at the moment. The boys tried to get me to look at CarrotTop playing basketball. I refused. Dude that plays Turk is playing too.

eta: What Jesse said about airport rentals. I've always found them the best deal.

Yeah, I'm getting anything from $18-30 base quoted online from the places nearby (and I've got rental coverage on my credit card, so I can waive a lot of the add ons.) I'm gonna try the locally owned one first because they claim to do free acquisition/de-acquisition service and that would be such a relief.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

This was just in Salon. It's a freaky animation of Nicole Richie wasting away.
