Up with the sun

Sophia might have used the war thread as an example of something that was closed in some of her early list or ballot posts or issue explanations.

I'm pretty sure she did, because I remember thinking, "Huh, I didn't know that was finalized."

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I looked at that post, but IIRC she used it as a theoretical example of what happens after we vote something down. But let me go look and make sure.

2. HOW we decide things, because I think that will eliminate any of this talking and talking and talking about something until finally we don't decide. Or make a decision because people objecting have left the thread Suggestions

Closed Decisions (ex: War Thread has been voted against, no more requests for 6 months) (This still needs to be dealt with)

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Yea, "ex. war thread" was the example Sophia used.

My sense is, the grandfather clause proposal made it to the lightning round next, so we do that next. We might then want to decide to make an exception for a potential war thread, but then we might not.

yes, this.

I don't even know how I meant the example, it was so long ago that that original list was made.

Has there been any consensus (YdefinitionofconsensusMV) on rearranging the threads and/or trimming the slugs? I haven't seen any dissent, but then again, it's a small topic drowning in a sea of much bigger and more controversial topics.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm against rearranging the sidebar because it makes sense to me the way it is. Announcements, administrativa, archives.

I'm sort of against rearranging, but thinking yes on brevity, to fit mroe things above the fold. (So to speak.)

But I need to cogitate on it further and also commute home.

What is the proposed re-arrangement again?

It makes sense to me that beep Me, COMM and Press go together as they are a Board Diet. Kafka, BBB, and Voting together. Nilly and Meijia and tapes together.

Works for me.

But Beep Me and Press are announcement threads, and COMM is an archive thread. If anything, When Come Back should be moved up with the other announcements.

[edit: Not a real suggestion, because When Come Back is so specialized, I don't think it deserves top o' the page priority]
