Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh-- OK-- I take it back.

I was just sort of afraid that since, say we'd made the decision not to have any other TV show threads that this would remain in force after all the ME shows were off the air and we were only nattering.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Message 8262, Plei. About five people said "okay, we like lightbulbs best," and I'm voting - no, wait, I'm not. I'm suggesting we take that as consensus, because this is such a minor issue that I can't imagine anyone will care and we made sure not to do anything denigrating that could upset people.

If I only had a brain...

I don't oppose consensus on this naming. *g*

I don't care what we call the thread as long as it is clear.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

'K. I'll need someone to repost the slug, expanded slug, and full title for me.

I have to agree that to revisit old decisions would be a terrible idea.

We introduced a voting system because people weren't happy with the old "consensus" system, but we never said decisions of the old system could be revisited.

Let's not forget that there were Natter people who might have wanted war talk moved out, and they didn't get their way either.

Why are people so against bringing it up again if they're sure they will win?

Because I see this as opening a floodgate. We are going to end up rehashing every single decision that was made in those weeks prior to voting being voted in.

I don't think we need to make a sweeping policy on this right now.

Wrong. Reopening the war thread discussion is a sweeping policy change. Once you do it, it's done. I fully expect that we'll be revisiting the TV thread and the politics thread and whatever else we had decided against in the past three months.

The way I read the discussion, it didn't close off the necessity of a thread, the "consensus" was it wasn't needed at that time.

I disagree with this characterization. A great deal of those "no" votes were due to anti-proliferation stances and/or the feeling that it should remain in Natter. Not that it wasn't needed at that time.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I assumed that thread titles were still being decided by either consensus or Mr Poll, depending on the time frame available.

Plei:

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

tag: A thread open only to discuss proposals on the floor for voting. If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

Blurb: We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy. (Which we voted on!)

I liked Whip Appeal because, you know, I'm the Whip. But the lightbulbs one works for me as well so you can toss my vote in that direction.
