I would like to bring up the separate war thread discussion. Since we are currently at war, I would really like a place where I could discuss the war with other Buffistas without having to wade through 100s of Natter posts. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, or maybe not. So I move for the opening of discussion on a war thread. I believe all we need is four "seconds". And I'd like to have this discussion before the war is actually over.

Bureaucracy 1: Like Kafka, Only Funnier
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

And vice versa. Not to be contrary. Just to be honest.
I REALLY thought this issue was decided. I hate to see the vote mechanism being used to reopen an issue that was decided before just because some people don't like the way it turned out.
I thought it was decided, too, and I was one of the ones who originally wanted a War thread. (I've changed my mind, since now it seems kosher to talk about it in Natter--it didn't before, but that's changed in the last couple weeks.)
I honestly don't remember it being decided. Could someone post a link to the posts where it was decided?
I think this was decided, too. We consensed (under the old policy) that war talk belonged in Natter. Among the reasons were that thread proliferation has consistently increased bandwidth rather than simply subdividing existing bandwidth, and the very real risk that a separate named War thread would attract trolls.
Here it is. I think.

I'll be the first second. And, since this is the first proposal under the new rules, I'm the FIRST first second.
Can't provide a link - hopefully someone else can Nilly, which I don't know how to do without search - but I thought this was a done issue as well.
WAIT A MINUTE.
Are we saying that every decision we made under the old rules may now be put to a vote? Because I didn't sign up for that.
