As long as every one understands that FIFTY IS THE CORRECT ANSWER, I don't care what the range is for MVT voting.

That anonymous system you described boggles me. I am boggled. Shake me up and look for words.
Most fans are boggled, and while the skaters are trying to be diplomatic, we think they are, too. There's even going to be an official No Secret Judging protest at Worlds at the end of the month, with some pretty savvy PR types from the fandom shepherding it.
It is not at all surprising to me that I agree with Jesse!
2-100 makes more sense to me too.
Me and you, Sophia. Co-Rulers of All Buffistadom. It could work!

Two rulers? How would you break a tie?
Preferential voting, duh.
There would be no ties! We both know the One True Answer.
How many voters are we likely to get on future issues? We don’t have much data so far. We’ve only had two ballots. The first ballot got 131, 120, 113, and 124 non-abstaining votes on the four motions, respectively. The second ballot got a total of 100 votes. The first ballot had the advantage of being advertised in all board threads and open for 7 days, while the second ballot was mentioned only in Press and open for 3 days.
I’d guess that future ballots will have fewer voters. I suspect that as the novelty of voting wears off, fewer people will vote. Also issues that don’t affect the whole board will probably only draw voters that care about the issue. I’d suspect that during the summer, what with vacations and reruns, fewer people may be around to vote. Fewer ME shows on the air next year could cause numbers to drop. But I could be completely wrong. Our membership numbers continue to grow, it could happen that likely voters will increase. The point is, I don’t think anybody can say for sure until we have more ballots.
For instance, thread creation, which is, I gather, one of the main issues which instigated the idea of voting in the first place. How many people will vote on the ballot? Those that want to participate in the thread will vote Yes. Those who hate the thread topic or think the thread might cause bad vibes in the community will vote No. Those opposed to thread proliferation will vote No. Those who won’t participate in thread but actively support thread proliferation will vote Yes. I would suspect that a lot of people who won’t participate in the thread but don’t oppose its creation wouldn’t bother to vote. So I’d guess that a thread creation ballot might have significantly less voters than the ballots we’ve had so far. How many? Who the hell knows until we have a thread creation ballot? What I’m afraid of is that if we set the MVT too high based on the two ballots we’ve done so far, and say it can’t be changed for 6 months, then no new thread will get created for 6 months. This will make anti-proliferationists happy, but could be very frustrating for others.
