A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

It seems to me these discussions should be possible to conduct in Natter, and if they aren't, it just proves that a thread would be a bad idea.
I agree with Knut. I've had to change how I feel about Natter, but I have. And I think that it's the appropriate place for discussion about the war. And, if folks are civil, politics too. Because...we really did once upon a time have the most civil and thoughtful discussions about the most difficult subjects ever in the history of the entire internet.
Regarding Buffy and Angel boards. Used to be, way back when, you just didn't go into the boards if you hadn't caught up. Also, before the shows were on different networks and they ran back to back, so very few people saw one without the other.
It was better when you could talk about both shows.
There has been some very lovely analysis going on in Spoilers because you can talk about both shows there. Analysis that would have enhanced the regular show boards (without any spoilage). Also [white fonting]
the shows are crossing over. It's inevitable.
I'd opt for the reasonable delay. I think that's fair.
Yeah--post 9-11, being able to sort through things in Natter, with intense discussions intermixed with regular life natter, really felt right to me, and was personally helpful. Having the responses to that incident in their own thread probably would have kept me (or some folk) away, and I benefitted from sharing everyone's views. I think the same would be true if/when we go to war.

Yeah! 'Cuz I just like being next to scrappy with the solidarity and she smells nice. Also, she's completely right. Our posts on 9/11 are amazing.
I am very much pro allowing discussion of "Angel" in the "Buffy" thread, and vice-versa. Even if there are no crossovers or the like, there are some thematic elements and plot developments in one series that I'd like tto be able to compare to what's going on in the other series.
I'd back a whitefont until the weekend rule.
I think this makes more sense than the two episode delay. It's easier to keep track of what's aired when, and if anyone has had a brilliant cross-series theory, it's less likely to be forgotten. I have to watch "Angel" on tape delay thanks to basketball, and personally, I'd have no trouble with a WUtW policy.
I also vote for whitefont until the weekend.
I'm with Candy and David.
Count me in for the weekend thing.
Not to add another choice to the mix-- but how about white fonting until the next episode aira? When I am on tape delay, I usually see it by the that time. If people are receiveing tapes in the mail, that should be enough time for them to get there. And usually games delayed for sports are shown within the space of a week, but may not be shown for the weekend.
I am also sick, and was just asleep since 6 pm last night, so I could be making no sense at all.
The funny thing about natter is that everyone seems to wish we could have the old style sustained conversations (which is why no one wants to interupt, I think)-- just some people think that can happen by not creating threads, and others by creating more. Weird.
