Kaylee: Is that him? Mal: That's the buffet table. Kaylee: Well how can we be sure, unless we question it?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Leave the man his penguin dignity.

T'ain't no dignity like penguin dignity.

Incidentally, my Amazon recommendations have taken a turn for the bizarre. Where before I might see U2 or k. d. lang being proffered, now I'm getting selections like Lounge Against The Machine (alt rock gets the Vegas treatment) and The Annoying Music Show's The Annoying Music Show CD (I'm quite sure you haven't lived until you've heard Tiny Tim and Bob Dylan singing "I Got You Babe"). The reason? It's just a guess of course, but I suspect it may have something to do with the arrival of one third of my younger brother's b'day present - The Greatest Hits of Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner. (At least I hope so, because otherwise it's Bic Runga's Drive and I've sadly misjudged its relative groovetasticness.)

Fortunately, it doesn't seem to have affected the gold box offerings, which include a Hamilton Beach 26200 "Flip 'n Fluff" Belgian Waffle Baker

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Natter 9 must be "what is it with you people and monkeys?"

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

Is strikethough possible in thread headers? Because while

Natter 9: What is it with you people and monkeys?
is good,
Natter 9: What is it with you people and penguinsmonkeys?
would be better. IMHO.

Wow, it looks like there was much Buffista/monkey love last night.

And the thread title got more votes too.

Up with the sun

Not that anyone asked, but I'm not crazy about "enough threads already" because it's neither a show quote nor a reference to movies specifically -- we could really use it for any new thread.

But it is funny, and I guess that's something.

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

I get it!

shrift, you are a veritable goddess.

I'm not just saying that because I wrote a piece of W/T fan poetry (!!!!) with really funky spacing and I want to eventually bug you about how to upload it properly to the BFA. Really.

I read this: Jess PMoon - Feb 14, 2003 10:09:04 am EST #576 of 590 Mark

I think the spoiler rules in our FAQ should be updated to reflect the real rules:

Q. What do you guys consider a spoiler?
A. Anything that hasn't been broadcast. So anything from the show and the preview trailers is okay, anything from TV Guide or anywhere else is a spoiler, including casting news, episode titles and plot twists. <new>No white fonting.</new> Spoilers should only be posted in the spoiler thread. or in white font in the main thread.

Q. Do I have to use the white font for spoilers?
A. <new>In the Spoilage Lite</new> main threads, yes. In the main hardcore spoiler thread, no. , but it's good form if there is something really really shocking and impending. Like, for example, quotes from an early-bird review. Also, be aware that people using text-only browsers like Lynx don't get any juice out of the white font, so it's nice to give them a text-only warning that there are spoilers ahead.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Good point, Candy. I'll correct that ASAP (sometime this weekend, most likely).

Pursuant to Lyra Jane's instructions, I have reset the poll for a runoff with the top three titles, Denzel, and a NOTA. So everyone is invited back for the final vote (I hope).

The totals for the first poll were: Movies 1: Just nothing with horror in it. Or romance. Or hobbits. - 27 Movies 1: Because We Just Don't Have Enough Threads Already - 25 Movies 1: Go monkey. Choose Monkey. - 25 Movies 1: I Do Remember The Popcorn Was Good - 20 Movies 1: Possibly something from the Ringwald oeuvre. - 19 Movies 1: Plenty of Chick-and-British-Guy Flicks - 10 Movies 1: Like watching a video with a bunch of strangers and a sticky floor. - 8 Movies 1: We got the "M" back - 6
