You know, since there's not old thread ending, and thus no big hurry, it shouldn't be hard to get a consensus on a title, should it? Just let this play out for a week. I'm sure by then it will become clear what most people prefer.
By the way, I have no problem with the people who have to take all the time to run this site picking whatever title they agree upon amongst themselves. In the end, I come here for what's inside the threads, not what they are called. And with power and responsibility should come a few perogatives.
Maybe the stompies can let the voting and lobbying narrow it down, then they can vote amongst themselves for the final title?
How about, tomorrow, we take the top two or three from the current poll, plus "Who doesn't love Denzel" and whatever other one is popular out there with the kids today, and do a new poll.
The stompies CAN NOT vote amongst themselves.

The stompies are nobody. The stompies are not an elite class of Buffistae, except for the fact that we can *actually* crush you beneath our bootheels. :)
Decisions are made by the group. Stompies just implement them.
Lyra Jane: Xander's defense of Apocalypse Now in "Restless". It was barely proposed at all--it was one of the episode quotes posted, and I think exactly one other person mentioned liking it as a thread title.
If someone gives me more quotes I can stick them in, but they'll have a serious disadvantage at this stage in the game. If someone wants to set an end time for the current poll, we can take the top 1, 2 or 3 titles and run them off against other proposed titles. I leave it up to Lyra Jane who started it all.

These are my thoughts:
1) I think the current poll is very, very closely split. And I think a vote out of seven is always going to disenfranchise/piss off more people than a vote out of three or four -- I'd like there to be more of a consensus (yes, I know the Buffy thread poll ended at 52/48 or something, but to me that indicates more agreement than if the top 3 are 18/17/16 and we give it to the 18 -- if my math is right, that means 49% of the people wanted none of the three). So if it were solely up to me, I would do the top 3 from the current poll + Denzel as a runoff, starting tomorrow at noon eastern and going until 5:00 eastern time Monday.
2) But it's not solely up to me, and having three polls in a week is a lot. People may feel they've already voted and ignore the second poll, which would skew the results. It would also mean waiting on the thread at least until Monday, to ensure people who take the weekend off have time to vote. And Monday is President's day -- should we maybe wait until Tuesday?
So, in conclusion, I'd like to see a runoff, but I would undserstand if we went with the thread title that wins this poll. (When would we close it, incidentally?).
