I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Has Natter slowed at all due to having a music thread?

Not that I've noticed, which is one argument against thread proliferation. As people might have noticed, we talk. A lot. In pretty much every space available.

Nobody

Or it's an argument in favor of measured proliferation. In other words, it proves that the conversations were desirable to a group of posters, but that adding the thread, hasn't taken away from Natter. By the way, I don't think anyone's asked for a thread for every show we (collectively) watch.

Up with the sun

Hey, Allyson? Could I ask a slightly impudent question? Because I feel like I got off on a bad foot with you and Kristen, and I think that's partially due to lack of context -- I've gathered that you and Kristen were both important somehow on the Bronze boards, but there seems to be some sort of story about what you did there that makes you important in fandom and connected to ME staff, and I don't know that. Could I have the reader's digest version, please? Thanks.

(sorry for the off-topicness.)

I just want to PROMISE that I'm not stealing the Buffista money for anything. I SWEAR on my honor.

Lyra Jane --

Lemme try to sum up...

No, there is too much.

The Bronze -- the real one -- was a place where you could fight and disagree and debate and stuff. I got there early in the third season, Kristen later that year, Allyson during the Dark Ages... er... the fourth season.

During that season, the Bronze, she wasn't so stable. And she'd sometimes crash. So Kristen, in her generosity, hosted a "refugee" board on her JossWhedon.net site. That is probably where she started to stand out from the crowd. She also eventually started TimMinear.net, which became official, I forget how. And Allyson, who always stood out from the crowd in her own special way (no, I'm not being a smartass), eventually took over running DavidFury.net and the official club.

Along with the sites, Allyson and Kristen also worked on other community-building and enhancing projects. They're the go-to people when it comes to getting things done. They have a history of busting their butts on things like ads, fan campaigns and so on and so forth, sometimes at the sake of their own sanity.

And, lest we skip over the most crucial aspect of the Legend of Allyson and Kristen, they're important because they know me. It's part of the Monique Vibe. Importance by association. ... Don't feel like you have to doublecheck this last fact, though.

Has Natter slowed at all due to having a music thread?

Nah. I don't think so. Nor do I think it's gotten worse. But I have no hard data to defend this idea.

I would like to bring the discussion back around not to an Alias thread or a general TV thread or anything else. What I would like to know is do we see ourselves as trying to become a board where everything (or anything with a verbal support group) is open to it's own topic or not? If we are, I think we are a much bigger board than perhaps the original intent.

If that is the case, then we might need to rethink much of what we do and how we do it... for example, instead of individual threads, have folders etc for dealing with stuff and to organize how we make and maintain threads. Because if we think, "Hey, any two people who want a thread gets one" then we need to do a better job at organizing all that info.
