I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

If you don't mind an only-occasional poster chipping in

I swear, the next person that says something like this, I'm going to bonk on the head. In a gentle, affectionate manner.

We want to hear your opinions. Everyone's opinions. The only way this works is if those who care contribute to the discussion. It doesn't matter how often you post, what threads you post in, how long you've been posting, who you talk to, who you don't talk to, or whether you dislike the use of the word "foamy." If you have something to say, by all means, speak up. We want to hear you.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Maybe it's best if we look at the influx of new folk as something more along the lines of the new freshmen arriving at school vs. something more akin to an invasion.

We could treat them like arrivals at boot camp, and set about weeding out the faint of spirit. NEWBIES! DROP AND GIVE ME TWENTY MEARAS!!

Thanks, Dana.

I suspect that simply continuing to talk about hyena sex and salad shooters will do the job for us.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Heh. You can throw a frying pan to my head if you like, Dana. I'm used to it. I've got a hard head.

OK. Promising to speak out in the classroom loudly and frequently from now on.

Promising to speak out in the classroom loudly and frequently from now on.

But don't feel pressured. Just get on being comfortable and saying as much or as little of whatever you want to say.

And Jim? What did you mean?

Edit: not to be here, clearly.

Our wings are not tired.

It looks like a portion of the thousands of messages I missed in my brief absence were of the unpleasant nature. Just as happy to have missed it since this is my non-confrontational happy place.

I have elected to use my personal MARCIE filter to avoid posting that is not entertaining. I skip over quarrelsome posts the way that others may skip over dieting or political posts. It is no biggee since the overwhelming majority of posts are interesting.

Peace.

Have we all gone mad? This strikes me as totally out of proportion. We had one possible troll. We've had worse. This community functions because we don't define strict rules or codes of behaviour. Frankly, if we're gonna get trolled to death then there's nowt we can do to avoid it. Let's look back a bit - I can remember a time when a member of the community made seriously hurtful remarks about another - like "your nation should be exterminated" offensive - and we dealt with it in a civilised way - we remonstrated, then we ignored it.

What I'm saying is do not feed the energy creature. I think we (as buffistas) are in more danger of becoming a hideous CoW-type clique, scared to death of newbies and change, than we are of a Bronze Beta-style meltdown.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Jim is wise.

I like Jim.

We must chill.
