It's me, too. But I'm also glad Connie is around to balance me out.
She did more than balance me out with her last post.
I just mean that I *know* I'm tribal, and if it were up to me, we'd be Buffista Island. I like my people and ONLY my people.
But when I'm being sane, I realize that being tribal like that isn't always good. So I'm glad to have people around who *like* other people, because they balance out my curmudgeonly ways.
Just to clarify, what are we debating right now? As I see it, Schmoker has done nothing that would earn a warning, right?
Or is this debate about the behavior of the *whole* community?

No, Schmoker has done nothing to earn a banning, at all. I wouldn;t even MARCIE him. I'm confrontational, though.
For what it's worth, I'm convinced Schmoker is mieskie. The tone, the word choice, the approach, the attitude are the same.

Oh, sure, me too. But the nasty problem is all the people who haven't figured out they're my people just yet, and therefore aren't Buffistas yet or are, in best situations, just-registered Buffistas. Like Deena, for one example, who we've only gotten fairly recently but about whom I now feel as possessive as I do for any of my Buffista Crushes.
You're not alone, there, Hec. Not by a longshot. I don't really care, though, honestly. It's not like the world isn't filled with Mieskes, or even Allysons, truth be told.
I think Schmoker is mieskie, too. Any textual analysis would yield some too-close-for-comfort similarities.
And I'd use MARCIE, only b/c I don't have time or patience for bullshit.
If it's about the whole community, I do think that there has been some circling the wagons, but as I said elsewhere, I think it's growing pains. All in all, most of the new members *have* been able to integrate themselves just fine.
We call ourselves a community. We behave like one. Which means that there are *people* here, not just faceless monikers, and there are some basic rules of polite interaction that have guided our behavior. I'd prefer to not see that change.
