Actually, I kind of am a paranoid freak, or I'm paranoid about being thought a paranoid freak (same thing, really) - so I also get paranoid about being a paranoid freak.
I've been thinking it for over a week, and feeling like the little kid who just KNOWS the emperor is nekkid, but didn't want to upset the villagers and didn't want to falsely accuse an innocent. Now it seems to be getting to the point where the discussion patterns, the posting style, and the slightly incorrect adoption of posting gimmicks, etc., is so very much the same that it almost can't be another person. However, I have to say, if the person I suspect is the person I suspect s/he is, his/her second incarnation's behavior (when called on posting problems) has been better and (imo) not suspension worthy, in and of itself.
Crap. I hate being delicate. Is the above even in English?
eta...
Oh Betsy, that's right. I'd forgotten. Okay, never mind Buffistas. Either the truth will out and (hopefully) I'll be proven wrong, or it will never out, in which case, we still really don't have a problem.
Cindy-- I think we are the same exact person on this. I understand and agree with all of the above.
Me three. However,
if the person I suspect is the person I suspect s/he is, his/her second incarnation's behavior (when called on posting problems) has been better and (imo) not suspension worthy, in and of itself.
makes me want to err on the side of inaction.
I think I agree Jon, so now I'm not even sure why I brought it up - except it's really hard to stare at a nekkid emperor for too long, without saying something.
I think we need to get exhaustive about the spoiler rules, because they're obviously confusing people. I *think* they boil down to:
1. In show threads, mention only topics that have already aired on the show. Nothing you saw in TV Guide (insert existing blurb.) should be mentioned, not even in whitefont. However, if you're mentioning current-season Buffy events on Angel or Angel events on Buffy, use whitefont. Some people are on tape delay for one or both shows.
2. In non-show threads, whitefont spoilers for current-season shows, exciting plot twists in current movies, mentions of R*ley...
3. And, as always, use whitefont for humorous effect. Not that we could stop you.
Betsy: if you posted this because of my question in Buffy, just let it be known that the only reason why I'm confused is because I'm a lazy bastard and haven't read the FAQ as throughly (?) as I should have (well, I did read it, but only for the funny parts). Since I didn't remember whether it was okay to talk about shooting scripts for the current season, and since I've heard other people saying that scripts are not canon for them, I thought that I'd rather be on the safe side and ask.
Not to say that the FAQ couldn't be improved (or perhaps it can't, and it's already perfect in its current encarnation), but just wanted to clarify that, at least in this case, the "fault" lies definitely in this user's side and not in the (lack of) clarity of the guidelines.
Paul, you aren't the only one. We've been getting a lot of questions lately, which makes me think the FAQ isn't as clear as it was before we had three shows and three networks to keep track of. It used to be that anybody who saw Buffy also saw Angel at the same time.
I'd like to say I'm completely against discussions of unnamed posters. It encourages too much paranoia.
Not to speak for Betsy, but I feel like at this point I'm confused. Also about the spoiler policy in Bitches. So I don't think it is just you, Paul.
