Hey, Schmoker, welcome to Buffistaville. You might want to take a look at the FAQ and the quickie etiquette page before you post if you harbor concerns about being blasted for being new. We don't do that, but we do have standards. (Not the Bart Simpson in the Simpsons credits kind, the keeping the community warm, fuzzy and lovable kind.)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Spoiler is whited out, but I'm not 100% certain we're THAT dogmatic on this season BtVS and AtS spoilers. I also reserve the right to let things stand if the shows ever start effecting each other again.

I really want to revisit the policy, because it changed from, IIRC, being able to discuss Buffy in the Angel thread and Angel in the Buffy thread around the time that we started having Firefly discussions, and I think it's stifling show discussion on the shows that are actually related and set in the same verse.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I disagree. That the shows are related and in the same verse, for starters, but I don't want to throw tape-fairied people out of the one show thread they're live in.

I'm not saying that we can't have a holding time on discussing it, but a reasonable one seems fair, like 2-3 weeks or something.

I vote for white-font discussing. I can hardly remember what happened S3 versus 4, much less how many weeks ago an event this season I want to talk about happened.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm fine with white fonting, but I do think it's going a bit overboard, like spoiler fonting the fact that Glowy Cordy ascended. Wasn't that last season?

PS--like my exemplary use of spoiler font?

If I only had a brain...

You whitefont that because I burst into tears every time I see it.

Make it go AWAY, Joss!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Hey, it wasn't as bad as it could have been if Glowy Cordelia hadn't ascended and instead spent the start of this season spouting platitudes, banishing the world's ills, and macking on Angel. IJS

As one of the tape delay folks, I really appreciate the spoiler policy as it currently stands. I don't want to be spoiled for Buffy while discussing Angel, and the latter might not prompt me to discuss anything at all if I had to wait a week after each broadcast before reading the thread. But discussing the interconnection while making use of whitefont seems like it should work.

Up with the sun

I think using spoiler font for anything that happened within the same month seems reasonable, but if someone really doesn't know about Cordy, they shouldn't be in a NAFDA thread. As for bureaucracy, hasn't our policy always been to white out the current season?

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

No. That started sometime this year - I actually think Matt's situation wrt UPN or WB or whichever one he doesn't get may have been what initiated it.

I'd like some sort of a time limit too. It's silly that we can't mention how Angel got out of the box on Buffy, etc.
