You know, it's funny. We went to war never looking to come back, but it's the real world I couldn't survive.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

From a practical administic standpoint, I'm against threadspread.

Lord knows we've almost too many as it is.

And I do think, and this also comes from over a decade online, that threadspread thins community. Right now, there are plenty of people who crossover into all the threads (I'm in everything but Farscape and the Canada thread, for example) and provide connections. The more threads, the more detached we get.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If someone starts talking about movies in Natter, and there are 300 posts before you can respond, some or none of which are about that topic, it's hard (at least for me) to feel comfortable participating.

That's why meara was born, so she could come hear and teach us her ways.

I will probably always vote against proliferation, because I'll see less of people, but if that's what the people want, that's why it's put to a discussion. I can't make all the people have all the interesting conversations where I have time to see them.

Well, not until the next release of the software, anyway.

I have a forum at WX where I made it so anyone could add threads, because I was never sure I'd be there at a rollover. And there have been maybe 2 threads created (not counting iterations of existing ones). It's not "every freaking" place that is freewheeling. Everywhere *isn't* the same, and if it were, why leave home?

My food is problematic...

A new poster (Mana) just posted this over in Firefly...

But anyway... I don't know if this has been posted or not, but I was watching tv today. And on the TV Guide channel they said something about Firefly. So, of course I stayed tuned. They said something about its been 2 wks since the show's been canceled. But the creator says he will try to keep the show flying. They even directly quoted the buffistas post, but they quoted it as being from Josh Whedon. (Gr...) But then right after, they said for more news go to www.buffistas.org. So, now we've even got television coverage linking here. ;)

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

okay, so Mike beat me to it, and more coherently. I can't find my glasses. It makes things difficult.

And in response to Mana's post, can we get a link to Firefly:Immediate Assistance in the thread header for Firefly?

Also, while we're at it, a link to www.Watchfarscape.com in the Farscape header?

That would answer a lot of questions for people, I think.

Suela, what's the actual URL for both those?
