We're proud to say that the Class of '99 has the lowest mortality rate of any graduating class in Sunnydale history.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

And as far as him not knowing this thread was here...hey, I found it. Noticed that there were an odd amount of new posts here, figured somebody was talking about something, and came on over to check it out.

Bing. As someone else pointed out, it's in the right-hand column for a reason.

Swouncing

It seems like there's a pretty wide majority of 'yes' to the new (Music amd Movies) threads.

Should we leave it open for a while longer (to enable different-time-zones Buffistas taking a vote)? And if/when we do, how should we close the vote? Should there be an official announcement (like on the opening)? Should we just announce here: 'let the thread(s) names discussion begin'?

I'm leaving soon (hopefully. I can barely keep my eyes open), but the results so far are 12 for 'yes', 2 for 'no', 4 neutrals and 3 for 'yes to Music and not to Movies'.

See y'all sometime before the week after next.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

It was, though ugly on the surface, a thing of beauty in its resolution. I really love this place. Even if I did just try to register as James Cameron.

By the way, Shell is very funny.

Also, Shell is going to die. Painfully. That is all. :)

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

pant, pant, pant....

My god, I finally got to the end of the thread! That's what I get for taking time off for the holidays.

I still haven't come close to catching up in Firefly, and coming across the offending posts, but the fact that mieskie/Michael returned to post here while on suspension is clear enough proof that he didn't fit in on this board, and the amount of bandwidht we have used in discussing the banning process shows what a problem he became.

I'll go on record as supporting the movie and the music threads. I found it hard back in the WX days to find out what people thought about specific movies or music in the Natter threads then, and the increase in thread speed here has made it practically impossible to get an extensive discussion about any movie. Generally, the discussion tends to go along the lines of whether a person liked the movie or not, maybe a couple of posts about what they liked/didn't like, and then the discussion would shift to some other topic. Also, in-depth discussions were usually forestalled because of the spoiler problems for people who hadn't seen the movie yet.

On a final note, you guys all rock. It just needed to be said (again).

Thrive to spite them

Caught up. Sweet Jesus, I have to go get my haircut and I come back to 101 messages.

Knut--The only person I ENUFed on TT was someone who used annoying HTML in his posts. He does the samething on WX, but posts less so I don't miss the ENUF filter. However you can take someone on and off MARCIE/ENUF whenever you want, so if someone is grating your nerves for a bit you can ignore them until the situation resolves itself.

Music thread--Msbelle, yeah I know I can bring up Music in Natter, but the way Natter works it doesn't work well for in depth discussions of stuff on a long term basis. I don't know how to explain it right, except, I don't know jack about music. Basically I was raised on Top 40 radio. The only non Top 40 stuff I know...I learned from online sources (pre Buffista days, Buffistas, LJs, songvids, etc). So I want more exposure to music and I want to...I dunno. I've discovered so many new authors and got new insight on books I know for Literary on a level that just can't happen in Natter, and that's what I'd like from a Music thread.

Banning/Suspension. I'm for 1 Official Warning, then Suspension, then Banning. Knowing the Buffistas it won't be a case of someone saying one thing and then a Stompy Foot comes along with an Offical Warning. The Buffistas will try to reason with the person, try to get the person to play nice. And by the time the Official Warning comes--well there will be proof that reasoning isn't working. Mieskie was like that. He didn't want to play at all. I'm all for Democracy and Second Chances, but we have to a bite to go with a bark,we're just going to start sounding like Angel threatening Lilah.

Dx, death threats from you are a sign of affection? (Gulp.)

Typo Boy, could I tag this:

"So I can't be reliable. I'm an unreliable source of occasional help for the future, though I haven't helped at present." (September 2002)

Aaron Sorkin coming here, as he did on TWOP, and acting like a jerk, and getting himself suspended.

Oh so that explains that episode where Josh interacts with a board and Donna tells him not to get involved because the people are all psychos who haven't taken their medication and/or pathological control freaks who exercise arbitrary banning authority. But he does. And they are.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Especially if it's wearing a rubber glove on it's head.

[woo hoo! It's two references in one!]
