The guidelines we discussed prior to the Phoenix rising have been working brilliantly. During those long discussions there were many what-if scenarios that caused fear among the troops. Take deep breaths and have confidence that this lovely community will thrive in the new year. My vote FWIW is to stay the course and follow the guidelines established.

Bureaucracy 1: Like Kafka, Only Funnier
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

I would also like to see us follow the guidelines. We've had minimal trolling, and it seems as if one potential nuisance has been behaving him/herself admirably of late. People can learn, usually.
Yeah--the worst that will happen is that we endure a couple days of annnoying posts from an asshole and then the stompy feet will stomp. We aren't as public as the beta or the Bronze, which is a big help.
He got a warning, he's not playing nice, he's pissing my shit off. Spork him.
Kill him.
Coming kind of close...
Hee. You got me before the red fog cleared to a light pink mist.
FF thread is quiet at the moment. BEst to just let it settle for a bit.
I have an additional request. If people are pissed off about a specific user, can they please keep it confined to where that person posts and to this bureaucracy thread? When it shows up in Natter, where the person is not, then it just feels like talking behind his back, but still in public, which is so beneath the usual behavior of the Buffistas.
I'm no stompy, but I'm all for giving him a few months to sit in the corner and think about playing nice with the other kids.
ETA, Buffistas is an amazingly polite place for an online forum. That's not going to continue if we tolerate bad behavior.
This is a private place. We have no obligation to give anyone a soapbox here.
Heh. Actually, people going over to Natter to complain is a tried and trued Bufista tradition. People's have bveen doing it as long as we've HAD a Natter. (:
Seriously, the best thing to do is to let it burn out, unfortunately, it's mostly newbies who are feeding the fire.
