You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Good idea.

His first post was reasonable, if combative, and people were reasonable with him, which isn't a bad thing. Then he said that Joss was simultaneously having anal sex with all of us...

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Okay, I wasn't going to wade through all 350 posts in Firefly if it was all going to be trolling, but if there's Joss RPS...

Joss RPS

Okay, can I be blind too?

Nobody

I'm snerking like a thing that snerks.

I'm also thinking I know what brought the troll. Joss asked us to repost his post at other boards. I know there are times (like cancellation confirmation posts on the 13th) that the writers posts will get picked up and posted as news items by other websites, whether we like it or not. As much as we should comply and spread the word about things when Joss asks us to, if he (or Tim, etc.) make a similar request again, maybe we should disremember to fulfill it, or at least procrastinate. I'd be folding money that reposting Joss's post yesterday, is what brought our little friend out from under his bridge.

Sometimes, the reposting isn't going to be under our control, but when it is... well I, for one, won't rush to spread the jossage around.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Couldn't we just repost it without citation? Which is, I know, rather a bad thing, but it seems more courteous than just not passing on a message.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If we don't repost, someone else will. No one asked us to repost from his previous visit, and that made it to the Washington Post. We can't stop the fire, and other cheesy songs of our past.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I found his recent post reposted (without a link, which I thought was nice) in a friend's friend's LJ asking people to send postcards. Which is certainly fair use, and polite to boot, but surprised me.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

I would much, much rather see it reposted than linked to. It's linking that'll draw people here, not reposting.

Which is certainly fair use, and polite to boot, but surprised me.

Why? If you're going to continue to be surprised by people reposting things Joss or Tim say, you've got a long life full of surprises ahead of you.

It isn't the joss or tim reposting that surprises me, just the thought that someone is lurking-- I have trouble remembering that sometimes.
