AP style is no comma before the "and." I get beaten over the head at work if I use one.
I haven't read the post we're discussing, but would it work to move the graph to the Sunnyville Press thread, which is where most Minearketeer, etc. stuff goes now?
And I kind of like the idea of new people. Diversity good, and we would frighten anyone too braindead away pretty quickly.
Kind of early, but Firefly: Josssssss Innnnn Spaaaaaaaaaaace! is at about 8400 posts. Given the news, the support campaign, the influx of new posters and that next weekend is the Serenity episode - we'll soon need a new thread.
I propose Firefly 2: You Can't Take the Sky From Me.

I was researching this very thing the other night at B&N (It turns out my local B&N shelves the grammar books right next to Erin's book). Sadly, the new-fangled grammar books all seem to think that it is optional. They're all heretics, of course. The one true Word, The Elements of Style, doesn't consider them optional.
"I'd like to thank my parents, God and Ayn Rand..."
Unamerican here who embraces the serial comma.
Correction:
drunk
Unermciarna who ermbraees the serioal com mma.
I propose Firefly 2: You Can't Take the Sky From Me.
Seconded, for when the time comes.
It would be awful of me to suggest: 'Firefly 2: I'm Going Where My Heart Will Take Me' or 'Firefly 2: They're Not Gonna Hold Me Down No More' wouldn't it?
I'm all for "You Can't Take the Sky From Me."
Me too! And I've never even seen Firefly, so I'm completely objective.
You Can't Take The Sky From Me is perfect.
Heh, Am-Chau, I will then insert any missing ones. (Fay doesn't use them, the silly girl)
MS style is very much pro-serial comma.
