Sometimes when I'm sitting in class... You know, I'm not thinking about class, 'cause that would never happen. I think about kissing you. And it's like everything stops. It's like, it's like freeze frame. Willow kissage.

Wolfram & Hart Annual Revue News!

Rob Hall, the designer of all those gorgeous demons on Angel, asked if we wouldn't mind polling the fans, to ask which demons they'd really lurve to see at the party.

Post suggestions, and I'll put together a poll from them.

I heart Rob Hall. AND YOU SHOULD, TOO.

There's a LiveJournal for the Angel Party, for those of you who dig that sort of thing. Weirdos.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I'm posting this on behalf of the Browncoat Ball Committee, a group of Firefly fans that I am a part of, who are volunteering their time, talents, resources and enthusiasm to organize the very first Browncoat Ball, which is being held in Chicago, Sept. 17-19, 2004. ( www.browncoatball.com ) We consider ourselves to be Browncoat Ball attendees, as well as hosts. We will be staying in the hotel with the other Browncoat Ball attendees and will be paying the full events fee. We realize it's quite awhile off yet, but we wanted to get the word out so people can start making plans now, if they're interested.

Summary of Activities

Friday, Sept. 17, 2004:

Immerse yourself in the culture of the Far East at the Sihnon Welcome Party. Enjoy watching Firefly episodes with your favorite Browncoats in the Blue Sun Room. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004:

All is well that ends in pizza.

I would like to urge as many Buffistas as possible to call any or all libraries in their area to request the Firefly DVDs.

Just a suggestion I was going to make in the firefly thread, but Press probably will reach more people.

I was at the public library in town yesterday and decided to ask the information desk about how one goes about requesting they buy a DVD for their collection. she offered to take my suggestion and pass it on to the proper suggestion/request for buying.

It appears that although they would not buy it as soon as it comes out, this may be the perfect time to request a DVD set, as most libraries budgets start the first of the calendar year.

(Of course, you can add a side note about Buffy DVDs....)

Basically this info is what I suggest:

  • The name of the DVD "Firefly - The Complete Series"
  • Twentieth Century Fox Home Video
  • The release date of Dec 9.
  • Reinforce that you understand things are not bought quickly.
  • Mention that although cancelled, the series has enough critical and fan support for a feature film.
  • Currently ranked in the top 50 in Amazon.com DVD sales.
  • Thank them for their assistance.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Note:

most public libraries have a form to fill out for requests for purchase

alos - some libraries are in a major crunch right now. due to the economic down turn. - this will be a one of the slow areas for recovery. If you have the dollars ask if you can donate a specific item for circulation ( some libraries will not guarantee that donated items will go on the shelf)
