Can't any one of your damn little Scooby club at least try to remember that I hate you all?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

x-post from Bitches

Would any Baltimore/DC/willing-to-travel Buffistas be interested in meeting for dinner on Sunday, Aug. 10? There's a wonderful Afghani restaurant on N. Charles Street that a) is fairly inexpensive and b) has a wide variety of things for both carnivores and vegetarians. Plus, they have this ice cream that is flavored with cardamom and cinnamon and that has chunks of mango and dates. Contact me at my profile addy if you'd be interested. The place is popular enough that I'd need to make reservations early next week.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Results of the Vote:

The following proposal:

That major casting spoilers (to the main cast only, not recurring or guest), which are being advertised by Fox or the WB when they announce their show line-up and show casts for the upcoming television season, are no longer considered spoilers and may be discussed, within their respective show threads only, from 4 weeks after the announcements or 4 weeks after the previous season finale, whichever is the later. This includes cast additions or departures that occur over summer hiatus only (not midseason) . Any plot points related to the character's (not the actor's) arrival or departure are to be treated as spoilers. The Main Cast are those characters who appear in the opening credits.

has PASSED with 80 "yeses" out of a total 103 votes.

The breakdown is as follows:

11 No Preference (10.6%)
12 No (11.6%)
80 Yes (77.6%)

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Boston-area peeple: This evening, at 6:30 and 8:30, the MFA is screening a double feature of two silent Hong Kong martial arts films from 1929 and 1930. There will be live accompaniment by DJ C, a turntablist/laptop musician. I've played with him -- he's really good.

Details are here

If anyone is interesting in seeing either or both, email me! Sorry about the last-minuteness; I only just found out about it.

We're sneaking in a deathmatch for Dru - latter part of Season 7 friendly.

Nobody

Per the vote, people are now discussing the cast of regulars for the upcoming season, in the Angel NAFDA thread. If you still had posts you wanted to read in Angel NAFDA, and are now afraid to enter, you can safely read through post 3033.

The first post that mentions the changes to the regular cast is post number 3034, by Kristen. She put warnings and left some space after them, to give everyone a heads up.

RIVER RAFTING ANNOUNCEMENT: I'm hosting a river rafting trip down the South Fork of the American River with a friend who is a guide with Friends of the River, a non-profit group. We are still deciding among Aug. 23 & 24, Sept. 6 & 7, and Sept. 13 & 14 as the dates, and want to find out when the most # of people can come. Aug. is nice and hot, a good time to be on a river. Sept. will be a tiny bit cooler, maybe/probably - depending on Indian Summer heat waves.

FOR rafting is technically free, though Friends of the River hope people will make a ~$35 donation (the cost of an annual membership). I'll be getting Fri. and Sat. night campsites at Camp Lotus, which is $8/person. It's easily possible to drive up early/raft all day/drive back to Bay Area in one day, but is also nice to get up there Fri. after work, sleep by the river, and then shower/hang out after rafting all day and come back leisurely on Sunday.

If you're interested, send me an email and let me know what date is best for you.

eta: commercial outfitters cost $160-$120 and include lunch. We will brown bag/potluck it.
