Hey, a bunch of us decided to make a Facebook group for health and workout talk, advice, snark and occasional bitching.
It's called "Buffistas Kicking Health's Ass."
Let me know on FB if you want to join! Friends of Buffistas who are a good fit for the Buffistas snarkostyle are welcome to join, also.
The preview/finale of Discovery's Big Giant Swords might be relevant to B.org interests... I interviewed one of the participants here: [link]

Last year I sold my very first short story. We just launched the Kickstarter for Genius Loci: Tales of the Spirit of Place, so you can pre-order the book to read my story! I am also offering an online writing workshop as a reward. I'm excited about this anthology, so any support and/or signal boosting is appreciated!
Cross-posted from Other Media as I thought there might be people who don't subscribe to that thread who would be interested in this:
The Smithsonian and Stan Lee are teaming up to offer a 5 week online class about superheroes and comic books starting this May. You can audit for free.

It's not like it won't get funded in just a few hours, but -- Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk have an IndieGogo campaign for a new web series that does in fact get them back in a spaceship: [link]
My first publication is live! "Stranger" is up at Saturday Night Reader! It only takes a couple minutes to read. Enjoy!
So! This actually happened a bit ago, but well, stuff happened, and some of you already know, but still. Anyway! I'm proud to announce my first mini-album has been released! It's a three song EP. I do blues/jazz covers of "Hanging Tree" from Hunger Games, Pink Floyd's "Have a Cigar," and my own original, "Sleepin' In." (spoiler alert - it's not about sleeping!) Head over to [link] to take a listen, and throw me a couple bucks if you want to download the tracks!
I was fortunate to have some excellent musicians work with me on this project, including Berklee grad Dr. Keith Cochrane on trumpet & bass, my former intern (yes, that one) on drums, and an amazing Honduran pianist, Mauricio Espinal. Plus, production courtesy my superb SO. It was a goofy little project that started out as a joke, but I'm proud of the work, and would love to hear what you guys think of it!
It's also available for sale on iTunes etc., for more info, hit my new website: sumiko.org
