Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hi, all!

I realized it's been a while, so I figured I'd better remind everyone that this board is self-sustaining and free to use! It is not, however, free to run, which is why we ask that folks contribute toward our monthly expenses. No amount too small or too large! You can give via paypal to donations at buffistas dot org, or email the same address (or me directly) and I'll give you my address to mail a check.

Thanks, and happy summer!!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

DH's latest review, which is quite funny. I post it here ESPECIALLY for Aimee. [link]

I'd like to announce the OFFICIAL LAUNCH of my new business and website: [link]

There is a giveaway for a editorial read and copy edit of a fictional work of less than 50 pages.

Also, some of you may have/will be receiving my first Wordslinger newsletter. This is from my email list, so if you don't want to receive it (I TOTES get it!) just drop me a line, and I'll take you off the list.

There IS a discount coupon attached, though...

Thank SO MUCH for everyone's help, and forbearance if you get notice of this in multiple mediums.

Feel free to forward my link, my site, my newsletter, my dog, my brain, my...whatever to anyone who might be interested or find it useful.

I have been up for 23 hours, and I'm hoping to only be up for an hour longer. Then I will fall down DED.

Gracias.

Please forgive the serial.

I met the sweetest pooch yesterday. Some goodhearted people are trying to find her the right forever home.

She has no name, but is up on her shots, is well socialized, calm and just plain precious.

A brief facebook post about her.

Please forward if you are of a mind.

Buffista lawyers and ex-lawyers:

I have drafted 2 contracts, one for resumes and one for other writing and editorial services.

If anyone would like to offer me their non-binding, not-legal-advice but OPINION on these drafts, I would very much appreciate it!

And of course, this is completely a throw-out-to-the-universe question; no one should feel obliged in any way to respond to this. IF you should like to, I will be HAPPY to offer you editing or writing services in return!

Profile addy's good.

Gracias!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hayden's got a new Avatar recap up at AV Club. (Bato of the Water Tribe and The Deserter, so later into Season 1.)

My favorite line:

Aang dives off the boat, and in the most direct Apocalypse Now moment, rises head-first from muddy water. Mister Jeong Jeong, he gone, leaving behind poor clueless Chey. Cut to an extreme close-up of Zhao’s face as his ships burn. I suppose Jeong Jeong is lucky that this homage did not get too literal, or he’d be little more than a sacrifical cow on the altar of Jim Morrison's mommy issues.

Also, there's a good argument in the comments section about the best hybrid creatures in the Avatar-verse with partisans of the Playtypus Bear squaring off against fans of the Lion Turtle, Turtle Duck, Badger Mole and Mooselion (and cub).

Also, of note to erika, there's a Deadwood shout-out.
