My sister in law, Tracy Turpen, is a photographer specializing in weddings and fine art portraiture is doing a fund raiser for Haiti now through the end of February.
She's set up a gallery of her fine art photography, mostly landscapes of Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia and Costa Rica and 100% of the money will be donated.
You can view her gallery here - [link]
I have a lot of old (last couple years) Nat Geo, New Scientist, and Scientific American magazines that have to go. Anyone want them?
eta: And they're gone.
Hi everyone.
I joined after meeting several of you thru the wedding reception weekend here in LA. I am working on following the discussions... I think the key is to log in more often.... Forgive me if it's a lot of lurking and not so much posting for a bit here :)
And yes, I have many bunnies. They are cute and fuzzy and get into lots of trouble....

I've put my art projects into the window at The Book Shop. It's really incredible for me to behold all this stuff unpacked at the same time. It'll be on display throughout February, so come on by, represent, support my local independent bookstore. Purty please?
Come on by for my Meet the Artist Party Saturday, February 13, 12-3 The Book Shop 1007 B Street at Main Hayward, CA 94541
Close to Hayward BART, plenty of free parking, right next door to the Bistro Cafe, so getting a bite will be easy.
Oh, and if you just want to see pictures?

All - please vote for the project I volunteer with in New Orleans, which for two weeks each spring works to rebuild the Lower Ninth Ward in a green manner. This effort supports an initiative by the residents of the neighborhood to make it carbon and climate neutral. It also helps preserve the amazing architectural legacy of the area.
I'll be happy to answer questions or direct you to someone who can. Thank you.
Help Historic Green by voting for us for a $5,000 grant to support our rebuilding work in the Lower 9th Ward. Vote for us three times before 2/15, then encourage your friends and networks to do the same. It’s simple –the project with the most votes wins! All you need to do is: Go to Brighter Planet’s Site; Create a login on their site (don’t worry they don’t sell your email or sign you up for anything); Log in; Click on the ‘project fund’ tab and Cast your vote for Historic Green’s Spring Greening.
