I've been posting some pictures in Bitches of the views of the fire lines from my house. This album is a photo dump of pictures taken within the last hour or so.
I'm going to be in Portland (Oregon) October 1 - 4 for a conference with a group from Olympia. Hotels in Portland are pricey. So I would love to Portland Buffistas. But our group is having trouble finding a reasonably price hotel. The thought occured: the conference site is close to a Max stop. We could find a hotel or motel in a less expensive areal on a Max spot, and take the Max toour conference. Right now I'm looking at Hillsboro. But it is not easy to do a search, because none of the general hotel searches make this kind of criteria easy. If any current or past portland residences have suggestions this would be appreciated. My profie addy is good.

After I posted this in Natter, I figured I should probably put it here, too.
For any Chicagoista art fans, this Friday is Gallery Night, the kickoff of the fall art gallery season. A map to various locations and events--there's a free trolley service being provided to shuttle people around the various neighborhoods.
Calling NYistas:
Jon Wye, a brilliant young designer friend of mine, offered me a very tempting gig over the winter that I cannot take.
When he described his needs, my first thought was that the NYistas must know this person...or possibly BE this person, so I’m sending his request out to you in hopes that he can find someone excellent to help him out.
The compensation is sparsely described in the link, but I am assured, based on our conversation, that the right person will make out quite well.

We're discussing a proposal to create a collection of original short stories and essays written by Buffistas in Great Write, to self-publish through Lulu.

Good news, everyone: Nilly doesn't have the time to look and approve the pictures, so she just allowed me to post whatever I want. enter evil laugh So, pictures of Nilly's wedding, anyone?
(Note: this is an account I opened with another email address (for I don't have pro or enough space on my account), and only when Nilly will have the time to breath again from her new life and the holidays, we'll consider where to move the pictures/the account ownership. Take it into consideration when friending nilly.wedding, or just don't friend the account at the moment).
I took another 50 or so pictures, but some are blurry, and some are friends which I had no idea how much they'll love to be viewed by people they don't know. I mostly tried to stick to Nilly's pictures in that account.
