My landlord has told me that I'm very resourceful. So, in an attempt to be resourceful, prove him right, and finish paying this month's rent (and the deductible for my car accident), I'm listing some of my favorite things on Ebay. I'm letting you all know about them because I thought you may be interested in some of them. So far, I have three Buffy items listed--a framed Once More With Feeling poster, Drusilla action figure, and the Once More With Feeling Variety magazine with DVD. A list of my listings can be found here: [link]

As the evening goes on, I will be adding fabric and yarn. Please go check out the auctions. Bid early and bid often!

I will also be selling some quilts with personalized fairy tales. I'll post when that information is ready.

In all seriousness, I feel pathetic putting this out there, but I really do need the money, and I'm sick of asking people for loans. So, instead, I'm going to sell all my stuff! So, please buy it!

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

My husband, a librarian, received a pay cut yesterday. It could get worse, so when I received this from the library, I thought I'd share it with you guys since we're a lot of crazy readers. The gist of the letter:

Please contact your Senators and ask them to sign the "Dear Colleague" letter being circulated by Senators Jack Reed (D-RI) and Olympia Snowe (R-ME) in support of funding for the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and the Improving Literacy Through School Libraries Program.

The deadline has been extended to May 14, 2009 for the "Dear Colleague" letter being circulated by Senators Jack Reed (D-RI) and Olympia Snowe (R-ME) in support of funding for the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and the Improving Literacy Through School Libraries Program.

As of Friday May 1, we only have 13 signatures on the letter. Last year we had 47 signatures. This is a tough budget year. After passing the stimulus package, only a select few programs will receive an increase in FY 2010. LSTA and the Improving Literacy Through School Libraries Program are in serious danger of receiving level funding, or possibly even a cuts, if we don't have 60 signatures on the letter. Please contact your Senator NOW!

If you're interested, the entire letter is at this link, with a form letter below it for you to send to your senator.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

So...we have a bunch of DVDs that need homes. The catch is that none of them have cases because said cases have been destroyed by a certain cat who is currently On the List. ND decided to take this opportunity to replace some of the DVDs with updated versions or BlueRays, so we now have duplicates. Fear not--the movies themselves are perfectly good. If you would like to adopt one or more of these poor, case-less movies, drop me an email at my profile addy and I will put them together into generic disk sleeves and mail them to you.

Roxanne
Runaway Jury
On The Town
Othello (Fishburn)
Pirates of the Carribbean Curse of the Black Pearl (3 disc edition)
Pride and Prejudice (Kiera Knightly)
X-Men 1
X-Men 2
Edward Scissorhands 10th Anniversary Edition (two copies)
French Kiss
Forrest Gump (2-Disc)
Fandango
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Princess Bride
Garden State
Get Shorty
Fools Rush In
The Queen
Freedom Writers
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Ever After
Elf (2 disk edition)
Finding Neverland
Finding Forrester
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Elizabeth (Cate Blanchett)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Remake)

----------------

And...we have one copy WITH case of Buffy season one. (This one was not touched by the cat but is simply a duplicate we've been meaning to give away for awhile.)

First come, first serve--and if you want 'em all, that's even better because I can just mail them all at once.

The localistas move fast! Kat and Sean have claimed 'em. Thanks!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've created two new categories of Buffista Links. Please go over there and submit links. Also, have a look over the other links in case you see something redundant, irrelevant, or dead.
