It's like, in the middle of all this, I'm paranoid that you'll think I don't like poetry.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

My Latest on Grist: Waxman-Markey: bill would do more for climate without cap-and-trade provision. Should be called Jekyll-Hyde

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

So...we have a bunch of DVDs that need homes. The catch is that none of them have cases because said cases have been destroyed by a certain cat who is currently On the List. ND decided to take this opportunity to replace some of the DVDs with updated versions or BlueRays, so we now have duplicates. Fear not--the movies themselves are perfectly good. If you would like to adopt one or more of these poor, case-less movies, drop me an email at my profile addy and I will put them together into generic disk sleeves and mail them to you.

Roxanne
Runaway Jury
On The Town
Othello (Fishburn)
Pirates of the Carribbean Curse of the Black Pearl (3 disc edition)
Pride and Prejudice (Kiera Knightly)
X-Men 1
X-Men 2
Edward Scissorhands 10th Anniversary Edition (two copies)
French Kiss
Forrest Gump (2-Disc)
Fandango
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Princess Bride
Garden State
Get Shorty
Fools Rush In
The Queen
Freedom Writers
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Ever After
Elf (2 disk edition)
Finding Neverland
Finding Forrester
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Elizabeth (Cate Blanchett)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Remake)

----------------

And...we have one copy WITH case of Buffy season one. (This one was not touched by the cat but is simply a duplicate we've been meaning to give away for awhile.)

First come, first serve--and if you want 'em all, that's even better because I can just mail them all at once.

The localistas move fast! Kat and Sean have claimed 'em. Thanks!

My latest post on Grist is up.

Trapped in a slamming Overton Window: Mainstream environmentalists enthusiasm for Waxman-Markey ensures it will get worse

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've created two new categories of Buffista Links. Please go over there and submit links. Also, have a look over the other links in case you see something redundant, irrelevant, or dead.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

F2F-ers:

As of May 19...

We were at 33 room nights - they extended the block to be Thursday-Saturday. The deadline for reserving within the guaranteed block is May 26, which is not the deadline for the 40-room minimum.

My latest on Grist:

Waxman-Markey pits consumer protection against climate protection.

Well there are well known ways to price carbon without hurting consumers and workers, Waxman-Markey's consumer protection approach is one that turns this into a zero sum game.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE:

Lightbulbs is open

to discuss the proposal first mooted (and enthusiastically seconded) at NoiseDesign "Bureaucracy 4: Like Job. No, really, just like Job" May 29, 2009 8:51:22 pm PDT

Given the special circumstances of this proposal, the votes will be counted by the original proposer. I trust that there will be no election fraud, Mr. Design...
