Mom update: She had heart rate problems yesterday, but these seem to have resolved, and she's getting more energetic and ornery, albeit still with her eyes closed most of the time. Thank you, everyone!
Through this all, she managed to vote, so if you haven't already, and are USian, go vote!
LAistas: There is a big No on 8 rally today in front of the Mormon Temple on Santa Monica in Westwood. I'm going to try to be there.

My mom is continuing to improve. She's tired and weak and cranky and her sense of time is a bit wonky, but she's talking more and has been sitting up and even out of bed with help. Thank you so much for all of the ~ma and support. You guys rock like a thing that rocks.
LAistas: More protests this weekend opposing Prop 8.
Saturday, November 8, 2008

Sunset Junction, Silverlake
Sunday, November 9th
10:00 AM
St. John’s Episcopal Church
514 West Adams Boulevard (at Figueroa just off the 110 Harbor Freeway)
St. John's was one of the most supportive in the fight to defeat Prop 8. Their massive No on 8 sign was vandalized and slashed. Rally in support of the church!
Still trying to fit into Dani's big hat, for the Secret Santa Exchange:
Anyone interested in exchanging small presents with other Buffistas during the holiday season, email me at my profile address with your Buffista name and a snail-mail location to which people can send your loot. I will match up givers & giftees in a highly rigorous, random process - i.e. drawing names out of a hat.
Please try to email me by November 23. I'll match names and send out notices by November 24, to allow for lots of present buying/making and mailing time.
Your truly, Tiny Jewish not-Santa
[Edit: because my mail address decided to play sort-of Secret-Santa with the board, or at least the Secret part, I'll just post it here for the time being: nilly_madar at yahoo dot com. Sorry for the mess, if you tried to reach me and couldn't find the address!]
If you are an undergraduate college student (or know undergrads that you can forward this to), I need your help! I am doing a group project for library school on library reference use among undergrad students. Please complete this anonymous, quick survey (10 questions): [link]
Results will be used for an in-class presentation. Thank you so much!
