An article by me on the politics of global warming is going to be in the July-August 2008 issue of Z Magazine.
The July-August issue of Z Magazine will be in co-ops, libraries and small left-wing books stores starting June 28th or shortly thereafter.
After the F2f, trying to decide who is a Buffista and who isn't on Flickr is becoming a challenge.
For good or ill, and due to the fact that there are more and more Buffistas getting on Flickr, I have created a public, but invite only, group on Flickr. So, Buffistas can all join, if we please.
URL will be www.flickr.com/groups/buffistas [link] go there to ask to join the group. Include your Buffistas.org name as reference.
My primary goal is to have a way for us to easily ID Buffistas and have sharing to a group on flickr that is blocked from non-vetted people.
Because i have had questions: Further information about the Buffista group on Flickr:
from [link]
Our group type:
- Invite-only public groups are useful for small groups who wish to focus on a particular theme, but want to maintain control over membership.
- Anyone can view the group page, but the only way to join the group is by invitation.
- Admins can choose to show or hide discussions and/or group pools from non-members. [Enabled!]
42 members, so far!
Daniel, I want to add that any photo that gets sent to a group on Flickr, regardless of its setting as a "friends-only" or "family-only" or even "private" is viewable by all in that group. So it makes it easier to share our "friends" or whatever locked photos with other Buffistas: once they're "sent" to the private group, all Buffistas who are in the private group can see the photos.
ETA: I can see that Buffistas is not a private group, but a public one. So if Buffistas don't want their f-locked photos to be kept f-locked, they ought not send them to the group.
My article Cooling a Fevered Planet Economics, policy, and vision for fighting global warming, published in the current issue of Z Magazine is also now available free at their web site.
[on edit] Note: this link will expire eventually so if you are reading weeks or months after the posting date, it may not work.
You can now order Lea's book, The Constant Velocity of Trains, and pre-order my book, City of Insomnia, from the Write Bloody Publishing Web site!
Soon, you'll be able to buy (or at least order) them wherever you buy books, but with small presses it's always better to order direct from the publisher or author.
