If even one child has signed up to join the military because of pressure put on him or her due to this information having gone forth, and that child was killed in Iraq or Afghanistan or anywhere while on military duty, then Rep Vitter is a murderer. Every senator and representative who voted for NCLB and knew about Section 9528 also shares blame for that death.
We used to worry about the government trying to come into our bedrooms. Now, it's trying to wedge itself between us and our children. That is beyond what I am willing to tolerate.
"Leave my child alone" is right. If you have a problem with that, Rep. Vitter, well, bring it on.

It's time, once again, for the Sooper Sekrit Buffista Gift Exchange!
Anyone interested in exchanging small presents with other Buffistas during the holiday season, email me at my profile address with your Buffista name and a snail-mail location to which people can send your loot. I will match up givers & giftees in a highly rigorous, random process -- i.e. drawing names out of a hat.
Please try to email me by November 5. I'll match names and send out notices by November 8, to allow for lots of present buying/making and mailing time.
Also, I'm considering setting up a LiveJournal or other community for posting messages about the Gift Exchange this year. That may be overkill, considering that we have the Holiday Thread later on -- I'd appreciate any comments or thoughts that people have.
