Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Represent.

Frappr.com hosts a google maps-powered interface where we can put all our locations in and see the world at a glance, plus add comments and photos.

Go.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

In case any other NYCistas are wondering what that weird sweet smell is, I just called 311 about it, and they connected me to 911 (apparently odor complaints require emergency assistance!), who connected me to the fire department, who said they've been getting calls all night about this, and that it's all over the city, but they don't know what's causing it.

So that's that.

Mostly lurking...

Some of you may remember that about a year and a half ago I wrote a comparison paper on the Buffistas and The Bronze. My professor encouraged me to continue my research, so I am now doing an Independent Study. For that IS, I'm conducting a new survey. That survey can be found here: [link]

It will take about 20 minutes to complete, so it's the perfect Friday afternoon work avoidance exercise. And it's fun! I would really like as many people as possible to take this survey. It's mostly multiple choice, so it's easier than the last survey I conducted.

At the end of the survey you have the option to copy the code of a "thank you" and "spread-the-survey" button. Please place that in your LiveJournal or blog to help me get as many respondents as possible.

Thanks!

Always Anti-fascist!

"My" magazine, Breath &Shadow, profiled me for its new "StaffShot" feature. I talk about writing, religion, the government, and the gospel of Pelecanos-likes-carrots.(I didn't say it like that.) [link] Enjoy.
