You like ships. You don't seem to be looking at the destinations. What you care about is the ships, and mine's the nicest.

If any Buffistas with illustration experience would like to make some extra cash with a potentially sizeable freelance blackline illustration assignment over the course of the next 7 weeks, please contact me at the following address:

matt@rainbowconcepts.com

It doesn't pay a great deal in comparison to the rates pro artists like Pete can command, so it's more a college student/recent grad sort of thing. But if my time estimate is correct the total assignment should work out to $2000 for approximately 20 to 25 hours/week between now and 9/22. We may be able to use someone who could only take on half the assignment (50 illustrations rather than 100) in conjunction with another artist.

The ability to work electronically in Mac-compatible drawing programs or to scan your work for submission would be a serious plus, but we can work with traditional pen & ink methods as well.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Squeeee!!!

And the buzz keeps a-buzzin: [link]

Apparently this is a pretty well-hit blog. I've written several pieces for this week's show... getting all wibbly at the thought of god-knows-who from the interbunny seeing it.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Re: Browncoat Ball 2005 and 2006

In deference to the Big Damn Movie and all the shiny premier shindigs, the Browncoat Ball will not be held in 2005. But it will be back in 2006 to celebrate all things Firefly and Serenity!

We will be putting out a call for groups to host Browncoat Ball 2006 soon. If your regional group would like to be considered for hosting this event, please send an e-mail to info@browncoatball.com.

To find a shiny premier shindig near you, check out the following boards:

On the Baltimore theme:

Rachel from Atomic Books says this of the owner?manager? of the Golden West Cafe in Hampden. [link]

Thomas is a HUGE Buffy fan. He's going to have Buffy Night at the Golden West Bar. He's bartending and making Slayers: a delicious sounding concoction of berry infused vodka, pomegranate & lime juice and something.

He's showing 2 "choice" episodes every Sunday. Starting not this Sunday, but the next!

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Just a note, if anyone's in Scotland at the moment (and why WOULDN'T they be?)

My best friend's one man show is playing at the Fringe right now:

Submissive Barbi.

If you are near it or know anyone who is near it, it must be seen.
