Re: Browncoat Ball 2005 and 2006
In deference to the Big Damn Movie and all the shiny premier shindigs, the Browncoat Ball will not be held in 2005. But it will be back in 2006 to celebrate all things Firefly and Serenity!
We will be putting out a call for groups to host Browncoat Ball 2006 soon. If your regional group would like to be considered for hosting this event, please send an e-mail to info@browncoatball.com.
To find a shiny premier shindig near you, check out the following boards:

Rachel from Atomic Books says this of the owner?manager? of the Golden West Cafe in Hampden. [link]
Thomas is a HUGE Buffy fan. He's going to have Buffy Night at the Golden West Bar. He's bartending and making Slayers: a delicious sounding concoction of berry infused vodka, pomegranate & lime juice and something.
He's showing 2 "choice" episodes every Sunday. Starting not this Sunday, but the next!
Just a note, if anyone's in Scotland at the moment (and why WOULDN'T they be?)
My best friend's one man show is playing at the Fringe right now:
If you are near it or know anyone who is near it, it must be seen.
There has been some interest expressed for a Buffistas Cookbook. I have created a poll to see if it would be worth exploring further. Please take a moment to answer the poll so we can see if it is worthwhile to proceed.
Poll: Buffistas Cookbook
Results: Results: Buffistas Cookbook
The poll will be open until Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at noon board time.
If you get a message in email that a friend has sent you a ecard, I suggest you delete it unopened. Virii are around.
Book Club announcement and Spoiler warning
Using classic Buffista tested and approved techniques for swift decision-making, and in an attempt to dewhitefontify Literary, it was decided that the next selection for the Book Club thread is Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince, by J.K. Rowling, with full fontal discussion beginning immediately. Those who don't want to be spoiled, you may want to avoid the thread until you've read the book, or until discussion has ended.
Watch this space for more exciting announcements about upcoming selections, including a popular graphic novel, and a possible Project Gutenberg classic available online as well as at your local library or bookstore.
