F2F 2005 Info

Discussion is in the F2F Thread

Okay, running the numbers again on the F2F 2005 and here's where we are at.

Main fund: $735 (Minus some paypal fees)

Travel Fund: $40

We are about 6 and a half weeks away from the event and we're still pretty short on cash. I've also had a few folks ask about money from the travel fund.

Beyond this we're racing up on the cutoff date for meeting our minimum number of hotel rooms. I believe that date is April 20th, so we're just under three weeks until that. I'm sure Kristin will post totals of where we are at with room resevations soon, but I don't think we're anywhere near the occupancy that we need to me.

I'm not intending to cry wolf quite yet, but just encouraging folks that if you tend to procrastinate, please don't.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

David Fury will be interviewed on LOST radio tonight, 8pm EST.

I'm in dire need of a downloadable INSTRUMENTAL VERSION of "Off To See the Wizard" for a young friend who is performing a dance for a pagaent.

Y'all are the world quickest "find it" service, and my dad would be really grateful.

Info can be emailed to my daddy-o at jerrygriggs at sbcglobal dot net

THANKSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

A friendly acquaintence of mine Doug Henwood's book Wall Street is going out of print, and the rights reverted back to him from his publisher. He decided to give it away free in PDF form. It can be downloaded here: [link]

Though politically biased in a direction I like, it is also one of the best introductions to the economics, sociology, and psychology of how Wall Street works and the stock market works you will ever find.

This brief post at the centrist Crooked Timber blog explains why this is a valuable book for people of all political affiliations: [link]

On a personal note, I know that there are many reasons why it is difficult to make the trek down to NOLA, and I know a lot of people have decided finances aren't going to allow the trip. However, if there is a way you can come, I just want to say please do. The F2F is always such a great party, and we're going to have such a fantastic time. I can't wait to see everyone, and I hope that we continue the tradition of throwing a party that scares the locals (though perhaps a tall order in New Orleans, I have faith in us).

Join us! There will be corsets and kilts and glitter and too much candy! There will be great music and foamy Buffistas!

We're just six weeks away! Woot!

If I only had a brain...

I just found a place, [link] , that sells bootlegs of hard-to-find 80s shows including Max Headroom and Wizards and Warriors.
