Just a note: Thessaly and I are two of the three Jacob Knight Award for Poetry winners this year.
Evidently, they called Lea first and were surprised to get her again when they called back for me. I'll bet it was Hi-LARIOUS.
The other Jacob Knight Awards are given for visual arts. It's a pretty big deal. There'll be some sort of awards thang in October. More info to come.
Some pictures from the NYCistas visit with Nilly.
The earlier pictures are all from Jessica and Ethan's place, where we watched
The Apple,
which answers the question, "What would happen if someone made a parody of Rocky Horror?"
Wow. I've included a couple of key Apple moments in some of the captions.

I have a very interesting position open in southeast Florida, and I thought there might be a Buffista who would be interested, or who would know someone that might be.
The opening is for an Education Coordinator/Grant Writer in Ft. Pierce. The positon involves the administration of a manatee observation and education center. They are looking for someone who has a degree in either education or science and has had success as a grant writer. Salary would be about $32-37,000 per year.
If anyone is interested, please feel free to send a resume to me at kgessner AT synerfac DOT com. I can give more information then.

Nilly Tour 2004 has officially come to an end. She is in the air headed for JFK and an EL AL flight back home.
I snapped a photo of one last wave goodbye for all of the Buffistas, then watched as she wound her way through the security line, every so often looking back at me in an attempt to somehow prolong these remaining few moments of an amazing trip. I left as she passed through the metal detector, thankful for the opportunity to meet this wonderful, genuine, and beautiful human being.
Godspeed, Nilly, and a safe flight home.
Just wanted to let interested East Coast music-loving Buffistas that the 9th Annual Bermuda Music Festival is Columbus Day weekend, and there are some great packages (click on "Package Prices" in the green box) from Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Washington D.C. that include airfare, hotel, festival tickets, and more. Bermuda is absolutely gorgeous in October and is a quick flight, and the jazz looks to be incredible. I'm considering going, though I don't know yet if I'll be able to.
I thought some of you might be interested, regardless.
Thanks for seeing her safely to the airport, Maria.
Thank you all Buffistas for the lovely opportunity to meet my friend.
Not just your friend, Allyson. Thank you for managing the details to get our friend here so that many of us could meet her.
