Nilly Tour 2004 has officially come to an end. She is in the air headed for JFK and an EL AL flight back home.
I snapped a photo of one last wave goodbye for all of the Buffistas, then watched as she wound her way through the security line, every so often looking back at me in an attempt to somehow prolong these remaining few moments of an amazing trip. I left as she passed through the metal detector, thankful for the opportunity to meet this wonderful, genuine, and beautiful human being.
Godspeed, Nilly, and a safe flight home.
Just wanted to let interested East Coast music-loving Buffistas that the 9th Annual Bermuda Music Festival is Columbus Day weekend, and there are some great packages (click on "Package Prices" in the green box) from Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Washington D.C. that include airfare, hotel, festival tickets, and more. Bermuda is absolutely gorgeous in October and is a quick flight, and the jazz looks to be incredible. I'm considering going, though I don't know yet if I'll be able to.
I thought some of you might be interested, regardless.
Thanks for seeing her safely to the airport, Maria.
Thank you all Buffistas for the lovely opportunity to meet my friend.
Not just your friend, Allyson. Thank you for managing the details to get our friend here so that many of us could meet her.
I've posted pictures from the DC Nilly get-together here.
If you own a ThinkPad made between Jan 1999 and August 2000, the power adapter may catch fire. IBM's recalling them; there's a Website where you can check your serial numbers at [link] .
