Hey Chicagoistas! The lovely and talented Melissa Ferrick will be at the new Borders on N Broadway Friday, June 18 at 7:30 PM. She will be performing tracks from her new cd, as well as selling her albums. Plus, it's free. I'm totally going, and would love it if anyone wants to join me. Ping me at my profile addy if you're up for it.

And on a completely different topic...

Chicago-istas Cookout

Saturday 2pm, June 19, Lincoln Park between Lawrence and Foster (just a little north of Montrose-Wilson Beach). If you take either the Lawrence or Foster exit off Lake Shore Drive and head toward the lake there is a drive that loops along the lakefront trails with parking spots the whole way. There are benches scattered along the trail and if we snag one about halfway between Lawrence and Foster we might have some decent shade. Just look for a pink flamingo mylar balloon (or some other obnoxious brightly colored balloon) to the west of the parking lot/drive. If you are taking the train, the red line Argyle stop will be your best bet. Just head east on Argyle and cross Marine Dr, etc and there will be a pedestrian tunnel under LSD.

I still recommend bringing blankets and/or whatever kind of chair you will be comfortable in. SA is collecting the $ for food, so contact her if you still need to do that.

Need more information? Contact me at my profile addy. Looking forward to seeing you!

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

So I'm mailing out the invitations to our July 31st - Aug 1st big summer party (aka the Wild Rumpus--relevant Press post here: KristinT "Sunnydale Press" May 29, 2004 3:25:48 pm PDT ) this weekend, and I have a request.

As explained in that post, DH and I make this summer party an annual thing for all of our friends, so it is usually quite big. Because of how much I have bonded with many of you and how much fun I had at the F2F, I opened the invitiation to Buffistas, and I've been thrilled at the response. I'm now trying to get everything organized, however, and I'm noticing huge gaps in my information. For example, I realized that I never asked for your addresses.

I know that not everyone feels comfortable sharing their "real life" personal info, and I respect that very much in normal b.org situations. if you're planning on coming to my home for this party, however, then you've already got all of mine. Maybe I'm being silly, but that seems a little...unbalanced? twitchy? Something that makes me uncomfortable.

Also, the invitations are purty, and they have directions to the house complete with pictures!

Keeping that in mind, I'm requesting that anyone who thinks they might like to come to please email me your basic contact info (board name, full name, and mailing address--cell number would be great too, though not essential)--which I promise to never share and to burn in a ritual fire once I'm done--so I can send you an invitation like the rest of the guests. Once you get the invite, you can RSVP to let me know the details of when you plan to arrive, if you need a place to crash, etc.

I apologize in advance for those who already gave me their info and for those who are having to email me for the umpteenth time! I think this will just be easier for me to keep everything organized. My profile addy is good for the email.

I am so excited to see you all!

Thank you again for allowing me to hijack Press to make this announcement.

ETA: I have addresses already for sj, Nora and DF, meara, Cass, vwbug, Jon B., Vortex, Nutty, Jen, Javacat, Theodosia, TrudyBooth, DX, Laura, Jessica, Hil, JohnSweden, DebetEsse, Emily, Lilty Cash, and ND. Thanks!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The fantabulous Raquel will be in town soon, and oddly enough, I am having people over for brunch to celebrate that fact. Brunch will take place on Saturday, July 10th, starting at 11:00 and going to whenever.

Please let me know if you can make it, or if you need directions or anything, by July 5th.
