I don't know if anyone might want these things, but I have a few unique items to giveaway to any interested Buffista. If there are no takers they're going to be donated to a thrift shop.
One:
A White Vintage Crinoline, circa 1950. Very Good condition - the elastic at the waist needs replacing, but everything else is excellent. It would probably best fit 26-32 in waist. (The elastic is 24" relaxed and 34" fully stretched.) It is 28" long...probably meant to be 3/4 length on a petite person. (I'm 5'4", and it hits the middle of my calf.) The top half is just nylon?, and about halfway down layers of tulle net underneath, and lace on the top to give fullness. Very Pretty.
Two:
One pair of gold metallic fabric pumps with bows, Size 9. 2" heel. (Probably from the 1960's-early 1970's.) I borrowed them from a costume shop I was working in about ten years ago for a fancy dress thing, and forgot to return them before I moved. I've worn them twice, and there isn't much wear on them otherwise.
Three:
A box of 150+ Kinder Toys. (Those little toys that you put together from the chocolate eggs) Lots of Doubles. Mostly from 1995-1997, if you're a collector. There are some pretty cool ones here. They've been sitting in a box since I left my job and the archives, and I have no use for them.
E-me at my profile addy if you are interested in any of these things. I will not say no if you want to help defray the cost of shipping.
Because I know we have a lot of writers on the board....

I am doing my final project for my honors course at school on online discourse communities…specifically looking at the Buffistas and the Bronze…looking at their origin, membership, lexicon, changes, etc. I have a survey that I would really like the Buffistas to respond to. Also, I'm really hoping that those of you who were Bronzers will have the time to fill out the survey as well. I have some extra questions for the Bronzer Buffistas.
Please e-mail me at my profile addy to get a copy of the survey. I'd really like to have responses back by Friday, April 23 at midnight. This project is due in three weeks, so I really have to get my butt in gear and get it done.
In case you were wondering why I've been so dark lately, I've been working hard on the launch of the new website. And--ta da!--it's finally here.
Y'all are welcome to come check out AngeLingo.
We had a vision: create an online journal for our students. The whole site is student-run: student editors, student web designers, student writers (plus the two of us advisors snuck in something). 23 articles in the first issue. As far as I can tell, this journal is the first of its kind. I hope it won't be the last.
My piece on my mother's illness is in the Life section. But there is loads of good stuff in the journal. I'm very proud of the content--I think the students done good.
