Do all Chicago-area Buffistas and other interested parties know about Flashback Weekend on the weekend of May 14-16? It's apparently the only American convention this year that David Boreanaz and Christian Kane are attending as guests of honor, in addition to Stephanie Romanov, Elizabeth Anne Allen, Camden Toy, and Charles Cyphers (the coach from "Go Fish"). Saturday night includes a Kane concert at the Pickwick Theater in Park Ridge, IL.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Job opening in Baltimore:

The job would be as an admin/secretary/whatever to a Baltimore surgeon. Pay would be up to around 35K, with state of MD benefits. They're looking for someone who can learn and spell medical terminology, can schedule appointments, be nice to patients, and actually show up to work.

Here's a little background as to why my friend's husband is looking for a new admin:

I feel bad for ___, and the incompetence of the staff he works with makes my life a living hell. Why my life, you ask? The latest blunder...they seem incapable of scheduling appointments. He asked for a day off to spend with the family a couple of months ago. (He never takes vacation days except to go to the Ukraine or some meeting...and when I say, "never", well, he took four days six years ago, and then he took a week two and a half years ago, and then a few days off when we moved....you get the picture) Anyway, he took a day off just for us to "make up" for the Ukraine thing, and told them two months ago to clear the day....well....they saw the lovely blank schedule on the computer and decided to schedule a woman who is flying in all the way from Seattle to see ___. Her tickets...non-refundable. Anyway, due to their incompetence, so much for our day together. Also, ___ comes home late and types his own notes, and enters his own data into his spreadsheets. It can be midnight before he gets done with all his secretarial work. What does the office person do? Frighten the patients by being nasty to them on the phone and send racist obnoxious emails and take loooonnngg lunch breaks.

I've asked my friend to forward more info. Contact me at my profile addy if you're interested.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Special Programming note to remind all those not keeping up with the Wonderfalls discussion in the Minearverse.

Wonderfalls has moved to Thursday night after Tru Calling on the Fox schedule. It is possible it is a permanent move.

On a local note: Minneapolis-St Paul area viewers will finally be able to watch the show earlier than Midnight, as there are no high school sports finals scheduled on Fox9 tonight!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Alright people, listen up:

Unhappiness abounds. In our careers, on the board, with the gubbermint, with the freakin WEATHER. We need a break.

Therefore, April 1st, in addition to it's current designation, is now

HAPPY BUFFISTA DAY

For the next twenty four hours (it's like a Jewish holiday, it starts at night) we're going to hug and kiss and fling glitter and tell jokes and lavish compliments until EVERY DAMN ONE OF US feels at least a little better.

C'mon now, sing the little song:

Happy Buffista Day to you
Happy Buffista Day to you
Happy Buffista Day dear __________!!!!
Happy Buffista Day to youuuuu

I've set up two mailing lists, midwest@buffistas.org, for Midwesterners, and nyistas@buffistas.org for New Yorkers.

To subscribe to the midwest list, send a mail to midwest-request@buffistas.org with the word "subscribe" in the body of the message.

To subscribe to the new york list, send a mail to nyistas-request@buffistas.org with the word "subscribe" in the body of the message.

[Edit: still yet another typo fixed. It's nyistas, not newyorkistas]
