I'm working on a banner advertising project for Save Farscape, and I'm trying to scare up URLs of places that sell banner advertising cheaply, and have high traffic, and aren't directly related to Farscape -- sites that are oriented toward people like us, the fannish, the geeky, the proud. (Places like Gothic.net, BuffyGuide.com, TWoP, Blogger, etc.)

Bonus points if you can come up with sites that will give us discounted or free advertising. t g

If you have any ideas, please e-mail me.

Today's Fresh Air (Nov. 8) [link] features an interview with Joss Whedon! It airs 4x a day in my area ... stations and air times are on the website by locale.

Friday: Joss Whedon and Darryl McDaniels

Joss Whedon, the creator of the movie and TV series Buffy The Vampire Slayer. He is executive producer of Buffy and co-executive producer of the Buffy spinoff Angel. Before working on Buffy, Whedon wrote for the TV series Roseanne. He has worked on the screenplays for such films as Alien Resurrection, Twister, Toy Story, Speed and X-Men. This interview first aired May 9, 2000.

And thanks for the fun natter last night. It turns out that "my" bridge was shut down for 2.5 hours because of the wind/rain, and because I was here nattering instead, I missed it all. My car was about 20 cars behind the 'pace truck' first crossing the bridge after it was open. Yay.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Ok the Slacker Secret Buffista Gift Exchange match-ups have been randomly selected (drawn from a hat) and are being emailed to the participants. I am borrowing the following directly from Dani:

Considering that we have participants from three countries, there is no set amount of money to spend. You aren't expected to bankrupt yourself; whatever amount you feel appropriate for an "imaginary friend" is fine.

Homemade stuff is particularly appreciated, but by no means necessary.

If for some reason you are absolutely unable to get a gift to your assigned Buffista, LET ME KNOW ASAP and I will try to fix the problem.

For mailing dates:

  • Please Note* A few Buffistas have date deadlines for their mailing address.

Otherwise: From the US to any other country mail by AIR or Parcel Post by December 16. Within the US mail by December 20.

From other countries to the US, please check with your post offices.

Thanks!

Our wings are not tired.

Yippee. Fred Pete had to come to Miami for a day so we had a chance to have dinner together at a noisy Latin restaurant on South Beach.

Yes, we took Pictures!

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

For all Bay Area buffistas:

I''ve got a short story in an anthology (The Best of PariSalon4665) and we're having a semi-private launch party in San Francisco. The "semi-private" means that I'm posting on the public board, but let me know if you want to come.

Details:

Where: BUILD, at 483 Guerrero Street

When: Sunday, 24 November, 3-6 PM

Nosh and drink and signings and fun and whatnots, and the book will be there, for sale, available if wanted, but of course, not necessary to buy; feel free to come and check it out and have a cookie and some pleasing liquids.

Let me know if you're coming, or think you might: sf_deb@yahoo.com

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

More swag! A few stores of Bitch-wear.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

The radio station for which I volunteer is having their annual Fundraiser. Last year we raised $75,000. I personally raised almost $4,400 of that during my 2 hour Friday morning shift. This year, we'd like to match those numbers.

Please consider helping us out, especially if you've enjoyed my radio program over the airwaves or over the web. We have a secure on-line pledge form. There are nifty thank-you gifts, like t-shirts, if you pledge over a certain amount. More information is here: [link]

ATTN: New England Buffistas, especially those near Boston

You know, it just dawned on me that I don't remember seeing this mentioned here. Nick Brendon will be at the Bayside Expo Center this coming Sunday at the Hobby Star Convention. The convention runs from Friday night through Sunday, but Nick will only be appearing on Sunday.
