All is well that ends in pizza.

Any spare ~ma would be appreciated for our 16-year-old cat Harvey.

His hindquarters were weak and Andi took him to the vet this morning.

I missed exactly what she said, but it's a collapsed or prolapsed disk.

We basically have to keep him warm and comfy while he heals.

ETA: His back won't totally heal, but less inflammation should let him walk better.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Collapsed disc. The anti-inflamatory pill we gave him last night has only helped him a little so we're going back to the veterinarian later this morning for cortisone. Please send the kitty~ma.

My baby.

Compassionately intolerant

I just posted a brief remembrance of Bartleby on Facebook. It was three years ago today that he died. And, while I miss him every day, I've gotten to the point where my memories are truly bittersweet, rather than sad.

I can never, ever thank this community enough for your support, that came in so many ways, during that awful time.

Nor can it ever be said enough, what a wonderful, decent and truly amazing group of just plain _good_ people you are.

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart and my very best wishes in the coming new year.

Our wings are not tired.

Prayers and any variety of good and positive thoughts would be appreciated for my 16 yo nephew Gregory. He has a head injury from skateboarding. He's good. Competes and has sponsors and such. He is in ICU. They put some staples in the back of his head to relieve pressure and have him sedated. On my way there now. I don't think they will know anything until the swelling goes down.

Anyway, there is lots of video of him on YouTube, but here is a fun one from 4 years ago! He is even more insane now. Let's think of lots of great competitions in 2015 for him. [link]

eta: a more recent video, at about :40 they move outside in the light so you can see better. He is in the white shirt and floppy hat. He does love it.

Because books.

We were evicted on Friday. We're staying with my parents until tomorrow, but they can't keep us after that. We need to get our things from the apartment, too, which means renting a van and finding somewhere to put it. The plan after that is probably to return to Fulton, or for Sara and I possibly to stay with my brother in Virginia for a few months. Not sure yet.

Any help or good thoughts or prayers are appreciated. If anyone can contribute to the moving fund, my PayPal is amygarveywrites@gmail.com. I know I've been the recipient of help from this community more often than I deserve, and I know it's wrong to ask again, but I'm really terrified right now.

Like I said, good thoughts and prayers very much appreciated, as well.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

This is a wild shot in the dark, but did anyone get a new FitBit or similar and have an older, working one languishing in a drawer somewhere?

My phone tracks steps, but since I don't carry my phone all around the house and yard and such, I KNOW I'm walking more than it says. owltlet@gmail.com is good if you maybe have an option for me -- I don't need or want anything fancy or pricey! Because I'm spending every cent on bills, house repairs and car repairs.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I said this in a few other spaces, but feel free to let people know who haven't been on the boards in a while that I can reset their passwords if they would like to come back. I can also change their email addresses if the one they were using when they were here is no longer current, before resetting the password. They can email me at fatoudust@dendryte.com or if they're not comfortable with getting me directly, the admins address will work fine too.
