Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

I've started work on a documentary about the lives of deaf dogs. Details can be found here.

In case you haven't noticed, I haven't been around much lately. Heck, I'm over 150 posts behind in the Literary thread! Due to work pressures my absence will continue into February/March.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Back from my interview. I think it went well. The chemistry seems good. Won't know until mid-Feb at earliest. Thank you for all the good Buffista jobma vibes to date.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Still dark, but --

DH got the job. Pay reduction involved, but the benefits package, biannual bonuses and cost-of-living indexed pay increases will see us back to our current income after a year. This is the job he's been dreaming of since he was Kenny's age; I'm delighted for him, and thank you for your good thoughts.

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

Going dark, and may be staying that way for a while. Nothing major, just computer troubles.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Not to be an intentional echo of Am-Chau, but I'll also be going dark due to computer issues. I may check in from time to time from work, but other than that, I'll be extremely dim for about a week.

I'm going dark for a week or two. I'll still be reading email, so anyone who has a Mac problem they need help with, please feel free to contact me via my profile address. Also, the folks who got the Palms, send me email if you need help getting them going.

I'm a fucking amazing catch!--Fiona Gallagher, Shameless(US)

I'll probably be dark tomorrow--nothing serious, we're just putting in carpet and have to disassemble stuff. I'll miss you, even if you don't notice.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Back from unplanned darkness due to moving the computer (AGAIN) and lack of adequate coax cable issues. I really missed this place.

brillig

I need those patented Buffista job vibes for Hubby tomorrow. He's got an interview at a place very likely to hire him, but hey, all the good vibes one can get.
