Update on Gram: Mom took her to the ER and they've tested and hydrated her. She's doing better and is going home with my mom. Looks like a nasty virus on top of her recovery from the wrist surgery. And they say hospitals aren't as generous as they used to be! Sigh. Anyway, thanks for the ma. The prognosis looks pretty good for now.

Well the apocalypse hit me on Monday and after being hauled out of my Doctors office on a guerny to the ER, xrayed, stabbed with things, then sent to the hospital for a glorious weeks stay, I got sent home with a bag of pills and an air compressor to be delivered. None of it free.
But I am better now and releasing any ~ma I might have had back to you.

Also if you have any extra energy to send, Grace is having surgery on Monday at 2:00 PM PDT to close a hole in her heart. Noah may also have the surgery on the same day, but we won't know until tomorrow.

Hi! So, after some serious deliberation, I've decided to accept York's placement offer for their philosophy masters program in the fall. It was a hard choice, but I'm happy with it, and I sent off the initial paperwork today. The course starts in September, so I have the next few months to prepare to move eastwards, with a brief Stateside interlude.
This gives all you people with vacation thoughts and discretionary incomes time to plan visits to come see me. I'm just sayin'.

I got the official offer today (finally!).
So it looks like I'm coming down from the ivory tower and heading San Francisco way.
Now I just need to find an affordable place ASAP. I am thinking about heading out to SF either for the weekend of May 5-6 or May 12-13. Flights would be cheaper for the second weekend. SFistas, does that seem better or worse in terms of trying to find a place for June 1st?
Juliana, still willing to help me look? I'll be staying with friends, but with two kids, I don't think my friend will want to go apt hunting. Also, if any SFistas know of a place, please keep me in mind. Thanks!

So I’ve booked my flight for my San Francisco apt. hunting trip! I arrive late afternoon on Thursday May 3rd and leave Monday morning May 7th. I’ll probably spend that first night with the friends I’m staying with, but if any Buffistas are up for getting together Friday night or on the weekend, let me know.
