Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

Seth John *****-***** was born at 12.14 pm yesterday. He and penny are both doing very well, and should be home from the hospital tomorrow. He is extremely handsome, and likes it when I sing Primal cream ballads, which i can only assume is genetic...

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yesterday, I finished my Master's thesis. It is on its way to being approved now. I'd so like to never revise that thing again...unless Jeff's right in that we can get it published. So...yeah. Wish me luck, cause very soon, I will officially be waiting for the school to give me my damn degree.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Work-ma sought quite urgently. Can't really go into details, but WOW, my present employer would make Glory look like a sane and supportive boss.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I am writing the 3rd actuarial exam tomorrow morning. Lots of exam-ma, please!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

G and I have just put a bid in on a house. House-ma would be much appreciated, especially in this market.

Compassionately intolerant

~ma of the non-essential, but greatly appreciated variety requested for my major project starting tomorrow.

I've designed my friends', S&S's, wedding for Saturday and begin the actual production tomorrow. I've been doing the prep work (and getting very little sleep) for the last two weeks, but now we go into overdrive.

Lots of lovely people have volunteered to help, which will be fun.

So, please, realization of vision and smooth set-up ~ma for me, and lovely, enjoyable wedding ~ma for my friends...if ya got any to spare.

Thanks!

(It's my most elaborate do yet...pics to follow)

move out and draw fire

I just want to post a loud thank-you to the Buffistas for the unexpected gift I received yesterday. One of the best things about having a baby has been the discovery that we are not alone. Both of us are kind of light on family; both of my parents are dead, my MiL is disinclined to be involved, and we often live in places where we don't know anyone. We expected, when we decided to have a baby, that we'd be doing so pretty much on our own.

But generosity comes from unlooked-for places. Our friends have been extremely generous with gifts, good wishes, and emotional support. Some of these friends are people we've never met in real life, or have only had the chance to meet at the Buffista F2F.

I can't truly speak how grateful I am to all you people, who show such generosity of spirit and who are in many ways the village that will raise Mallory. Even if he never meets you guys (and I so hope he will), he will know that there are people in the world who take care of others, and that's a good thing for a new member of this world to know.

Thank you.
