Hi folks - the no-internet saga continues (now the embassy has made its policy that employees can't get internet at home because the embassy owns the phone line and doesn't want to get involved in contracts with ISPs...never mind that we-the-employees would be paying the contract, and have to pay in advance...). This is so stupid even the ambassador is getting involved to try to help resolve things.
Anyway, until it either gets resolved or we leave for a more rational embassy, in, say, Iraq, I'll be battleship gray. In the meantime, here are a few pictures of one-month-old Mal [link]

He'll be doing a solo set focusing on the two albums featured in the book, Game Theory's “Real Nighttime” and The Loud Family's “Interbabe Concern.” Also on the bill is Savage Republic / 17 Pygmies guitarist Jackson Del Rey, playing classic Savage Republic songs for the first time in more than a decade. Sorry. Really wrong thread.
Hey Chicago-istas, I'm going to unexpectedly be in your city (Lincoln Park area) Sunday night, and thought I'd see if anyone would like to meet for drinks or a late dinner (I'll be free after 10:30 pm or so), or possibly for breakfast Monday morning.
Mr. H's grandmother had a heart attack yesterday morning. He'll be on his way up to AR as soon as he catches some sleep. There was minor damage, and things seem to be ok, it's just really important to him in a sort of family dynamic kind of way to be there.
Send him some good thoughts if you have some to spare.
And some for me too, since I don't want him to go and will really miss him.
In upcoming news, my doctor scheduled a date for inducing labor. So if it doesn't happen before, I'll be going to the hospital in the way too early hours of Tuedsay morning to have meself another baby.
