Mal: You are very much lacking in imagination. Zoe: I imagine that's so, sir.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

We are officially homeowners now. The escrow closed late last week.

Welcome to mortgage, huh?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Just wanted to thank everybody for all the exam~ma for my qualifying exam last week. I finally got the official result, and it's a Ph. D. Pass with Distinction.

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

This is the first time in a long time (possibly ever) that I've been apocalyptic about the possibility of good things, and I'm a bit nervous.

My perfect job has been posted. I have applied. My application has been received.

Job~ma would be so very much appreciated.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Ms. Allyson rocks like a rockin' thing, she does.

She's managed to get me an incredibly short-notice signing event in Los Angeles next weekend:

Saturday, 5 February, at 4:00 p.m.
The Mystery Bookstore
1036-C Broxton Avenue
Los Angeles, California 90024

I would dearly love to see a whole passle (passel?) of LAistas at this one - it should only go an hour, so no one's bottom will suffer unduly.

Thanks again, Allyson!

Hey. New board.

I'm about to send in my application for the Math for America Newton Fellowship, which could well be the most important thing to happen to me in my life, if I get it. I think I'm qualified, but am very nervous, so any application~ma or calming~ma would be greatly appreciated.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I'll be dark from tomorrow morning through sometime on Monday. I'm going out to visit the folks for my birthday and lay a little bit of groundwork for the upcoming move.

If anyone in San Francisco is heading over to Berkeley for Victor and Thessaly's thing tonight, could you email me? Ripper (the car) has got an intermittent left headlight - if anyone is driving from here, and has room, I'll happily pay tolls/gas/whatever.

I leave tomorrow morning at seven am to start going back to the States. Any travelma would be appreciated.
