Am I supposed to be changing my clothes a lot? Is that the helpful thing to do?

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

A bit of low-grade health-ma requested this way. I have been diagnosed with tendonitis, generally, although more testing will nail this down more precisely - my money is on deQuervain's disease, but we shall see.

Anyway, it's fairly advanced, possibly to the point of being permanently disabling. This is going to be a long process, and I don't want to take up all the ~ma, but just a little bit for good luck would be nice.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

I'll be going dark (well, darker) over the next week or so, as I'm moving Monday and Tuesday, and Apple still hasn't replaced my friggin' computer. I'll try to check my email, though.

Still more health-ma over here. I seem to have gotten myself a nasty nasty ear infection, bad enough that I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING in my right ear. Well, except the voices.

Not a good week for the Black-Nosed Wizard, it seems.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My qualifying exams are this week. Any exam~ma directed my way for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday would be very much appreciated.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Ooops. Wrong thread. Transfering to Natter.

I was fine when existence had no meaning. Meaninglessness in a universe that has no meaning -- that I get. But meaninglessness in a universe with meaning? What does that mean?

I have five gmail invitations and no one left to give them to (I've got 26 in total since signing up for gmail!), so if anyone here would like one, e-mail me at cranamy AT savewonderfalls.com.

ETA: Looks like I really had seven, or else gmail just now gave me a couple more. I have two left now; they're still up for grabs.

ETA again: All gone now. Hope those of you who got one enjoy gmail.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Hola. Bay-istas, I am headed your way. Will be in SF 8/28 - 9/1 and Oakland 9/1 - 9/4. I've got two conferences and a bunch of stuff planned, but very much want to do dinner and possibly toodle around the city with whoever is interested. My ticket back is currently for 9/4, but if some kind person wants to host me, I will probably change my ticket home to 9/6 so I actually have time to see the city. Deb returns Monday so dinner would probably be Tues - Friday. I currently have free time Monday morning and Saturday all day until I leave, and may ditch a couple of sessions (if I don't stay longer).

(I know there's a Bay-ista list but am slammed at work and freaking and can't find how to join it.)

Lodging offers and suggestions for dinner, etc., entertained at my profile addy. I know you can't tell from my tone, but I am sooo looking forward to this trip. I'd be swouncing if I had the energy.

move out and draw fire

Hi. I'm still alive, sort of, but I'm going an even darker shade of dark, if that's possible. We're leaving for Oregon tomorrow to deal with the stubborn grandfather, visit family before leaving the country, and hopefully buy property. After getting back, we will be packed out and living in a hotel until we depart for Greece...so most likely the next time you see me, I'll be in Greece!

Hi Chicago-istas! Thanks to some stormy weather, my one hour layover has become a twelve-hour overnight stay in Chicago. Unfortunately, all my Chicago-area relatives are currently visiting Arkansas for a cousin's graduation, and I don't have my co-workers' home numbers with me. If any kind soul happens to be travelling from near Lincoln Park to the O'Hare area early tomorrow morning, I'd be eternally grateful if I could hitch a ride to the airport with you. If anyone is driving a route close to this and would be willing to give me a lift, please give me a buzz on my cell at edited out . I'll have it turned on from about 6:40 am or so.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

NewYorkistas, check your e-mail re: Nilly and tonight.
