A little vibeage, please. My sister Alice apparently lost her footing and crashed through one of the glass doors that lead to the deck of her apartment.
She's at the ER, via ambulance. Awaiting a call. Good vibes would be welcomed and appreciated.
A request for interview-ma, here. It's at 10:00 Atlantic time (i.e. in just under three hours). Vibes appreciated.
I GOT THE JOB! I'm so happy I could cry, so now I can release that wonderful career~ma back in to the wild, just in time for Ouise's big interview! (This is the good stuff, Ouise. Sorry to bogart it for so long!)
So I can go from working 70 hours a week to 40, with two wonderful days off A WEEK! Good benefits, two weeks vacation. I feel like I can breathe again.
My sister passed the "critical bleeding" safety period in the small hours, and the surgeons finished removing bits of broken glass and sewing her back together shortly thereafter.
She's at home, and will have some really interesting scars, but should be OK.

Just want to post a huge Thank you!!!! for the kind and thoughtful Buffista (you know who you are) who sent us deelish carrot cake. It was a total and completely lovely surprise and it was much appreciated by both of us.
I've got a ~ma request (my first). I should be learning officialy this morning that the position I really want at work is open. I've been passed over for it once before. Any job~ma sent to Raleigh, NC would be much appreciated. (Also tummy~ma because mine's all knotty.)
NYC-istas, I will be in the area for the entirety of next week for a conference, staying at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. Thursday evening and Friday afternoon are looking the best to meet up with folks, though I'm waiting for confirmation of one last meeting that may take place either one of those times. That really doesn't help with the planning in any way, but I'm hoping a few of you will be available for dinner or lunch.

My dad had a slight (very slight, thankfully, I spoke to him on the phone this evening) stroke this morning.
They're keeping him for a few days to do some tests, but it appears that he is doing very well.
I just don't want to take any chances, because he's my daddy. So if you have some ~ma to spare, I'd appreciate it.
Ms H and I will be in San Diego for the Comic Con this thursday through tuesday.
