I'm almost finished with my legal secretary program, I just have a couple tests and an internship and I'm done. But I'm having trouble lining up an internship.

My Uncle John, oldest of his eight siblings and known fondly as "The Shepherd", has had a heart attack and is awating bypass surgery.

Any prayers, vibes, or heartma would be very much appreciated.

My stepfather's mother passed away today. Vibes and prayers for the family would be very appreciated.

My teenage second cousin needs healthma. I just found out she's been been sick for two weeks and has been in the hospital since Thursday, she's spiked high fevers, has weakness on one side, shooting pains. They've given her MRI, all kinds of other tests and they come out negative. Currently the drs are thinking that perhaps it's psychosamatic (she's been under a lot of stress lately).

I saw Uncle John and it was a huge relief. Surgery is scheduled for Monday and he is being all sorts of prepared an dmonitored. I was sure he was going to die until I saw him.

I earned my "E" rating in foil by finishing 7th in a 32-person tournament yesterday. While it's not exactly a ticket to fame, fortune, and international sports stardom, a rating does generally mean a slightly easier time in future tournaments. Plus, hey, I might've actually gotten decent at this stuff somewhere along the line....

When I decided on a whim to try out this fencing thing (something I might never have done if I didn't have Buffistas egging me on) I never thought I'd get so utterly addicted to it. Y'all have listened to a lot of babbling about it over the last two years, so I figured you're the people I needed to babble to about this.

Just to let everyone know - starting this Monday we will be getting the three unaired episode of Firefly in Canada. We'll be discussing the episodes in the Atlantic Canadians thread. We will be discussing the episodes as they air, each Monday.

Hey Somervillians -- I'm going to be up there for Thanksgiving, and will have some free time Friday and Saturday (as far as I know. My mother has been known to Make Plans and not tell me). Anyone around? Want to get a cup of coffee or something?

Uncle John is out of surgery and the doctors are saying his heart looks good.
